January 8, 2024 - We Made It
So much has happened in the past six months! What A whirl wind! The good news is that Mike and I are still upright and smiling. We're almost settled in and are able to sit back on the porch and watch the view. Bullhead is in a big bowl, meaning that we are surrounded by lots of amazing mountains. The desert is quite different than where we've been for the past 50 years in balmy So Cal - but has a peaceful, calming effect that is wonderful.
My computer died somewhere along the way thus I've not been online for quite a while. Sorta theraputic.
So, life here is calmer and a lot less chaotic. It reminds me of Texas tempo (for those who don't know, Mike and I were both born and raised in Texas; we migrated to California when Mike joined the Marines.) It is also great that our daughter is five minutes away rather than 500 miles away.
We are looking forward to exploring the wonderful mountains and desert setting Arizona has to share. Sign off for now. We miss our dear friends and hope all are safe and well. Pat

Arizona Thoughts
Well, it’s almost October now. Hard to believe. We’re settled in (almost) and have found Bullhead City to be quite nice. Due to the very hot Summer, we have not been able to complete the unboxing of our ‘stuff’ but, September is almost at an end and the heat has already begun to allow being outside during the day. All good.
The people here are very friendly. The pace is busy but not crazy. There are sooooo many restaurants and fast-food favorites there is never a reason to be hungry! Though not a huge town, there are most of the big shopping outlets … so we don’t have to drive far to find what we need.
And Just 15 minutes’ drive away we have Casinos in Nevada - right across the river. We aren’t gamblers, but we took Mike to a casino for his birthday; Christine and Roy and Mike and I played pool most of the afternoon. It was fun and the restaurant was extraordinary!
We live five minutes from the river and take the dogs to the huge part at the river. They love the water (no salt) and can walk in the low water rocks because the river is shallow. Don’t even have to give them a bath when we get home! They love it.
Retirement is really nice, though, I sometimes I feel strange because I’m not working!

We're making 99% of our Christmas gifts this year. Our family voted to make this holiday less costly and stressful thus we decided to do crafty stuff instead of shopping for stuff in the malls. It's been really fun so far. Roses from my garden.
