Winter in Wisconsin means taking care of yourself. This year, four local wellness practitioners are offering something different: genuine pathways to understanding and healing your body from the inside out.
owner Debbi Lynn offers healing infrared saunas and salt floats
"A lot of people can't tolerate a regular sauna," Debbi explains. "But infrared heals from the inside out. It fires up the mitochondria and starts detoxing from a cellular level." Unlike traditional saunas where heat does the work, infrared uses near, mid, and far infrared rays to pe*****te the body at different depths—near rays reach the cells, mid rays target muscles and joints, and far rays work on the skin.
The spa offers six different programs ranging from anti-aging to cardio, each calibrated to specific healing frequencies. The beauty? You don't even have to sweat. "
Then there are the float rooms—spacious sanctuaries where you float weightlessly in Epsom salt-saturated water. "It's complete escape and detox and relaxation."

Inside Sweet Zen, you'll also find Carrie Kooyenga's practice, Arukah Wellness —a Hebrew word meaning "to heal and restore." &assisting As both a physical therapist assistant and licensed massage therapist, Carrie brings a unique clinical perspective to bodywork, blending fascial release, trigger point therapy, and functional movement with an understanding that our bodies hold more than just physical tension.
"The fascial system is starting to be labeled the eighth organ system," Carrie notes. "They're starting to realize how much emotion is in there. A lot of times if we've had accidents, injuries, abuse, emotional trauma, our structures will hold that memory, and we won't know why we're in pain."
This is where Carrie's trauma-informed massage becomes transformative. She works collaboratively with counselors, acupuncturists, and other practitioners because, as she puts it, "You cannot separate a human." Her sessions are therapeutic interventions that address the root causes of chronic pain patterns.
Her approach says it all: "Where clinical experience meets holistic healing, we get to know you and your pain."

Pine Hill Farm: The Scan That Changes Everything
If you've been playing the supplement guessing game—trying this bottle, then that one, hoping something works—the three sisters of Pine Hill Farm have a better way.
Leanne Anthon, PhD, RN, along with her sisters Lynley Gray and Jackie Phillips, offer DNA BioScans that identify over 80,000 potential stressors in your body. "It takes away the guessing," Leanne explains. "Instead of saying, 'Based on your symptoms, try these supplements and come back in three months,' we can dig into the stressors causing those symptoms and test supplements to your body specifically."
The scan, similar to an EKG, sends low-voltage electricity through your body—you don't feel a thing. They also offer remote scans you can do by sending in DNA samples with equally accurate results. Scans can be done on any age, from babies to seniors, and even pets to find the best support for healing and detox.
But here's where it gets interesting: the scan often reveals issues you didn't know existed. "We had somebody who was 46 or 47, convinced it was perimenopause," Jackie recalls. "The scan showed she actually had a severe histamine issue. Once we addressed that, her hormones were almost a piece of cake."
Common findings include parasites, mold toxicity, heavy metals, liver dysfunction, and inflammation. The sisters create customized protocols, often recommending clients return in four to six weeks for follow-up scans.
Results speak volumes: clients report better sleep, reduced pain, weight loss, clearer skin, and relief from anxiety.

Essence Sound Healing: Vibrations That Transform
When Lori Jarzynski lost her father in 2020, traditional grief counseling wasn't enough. She discovered sound healing and experienced something transcendent.
Now, at her studio in Lake Geneva's Wellspring Pavilion, Lori offers sound baths using frosted crystal quartz singing bowls, tuning forks, Koshi chimes, and other instruments tuned to specific healing frequencies. The science is solid: ultrasound imaging and lithotripsy (breaking up kidney stones) both use sound. Lori simply uses different frequencies to trigger the body's natural relaxation response.
"We're all vibrating," Lori explains. "Sound works to keep that vibration in sync. If you're feeling off and you don't know why, sound will help you recalibrate and bring those cells into vibrating structures that are most optimal for functioning."
For skeptics, Lori offers a challenge: "Bring in your Fitbit or something that measures your blood pressure or heart rate. Take a look before the sound bath and after. If I haven't lowered your blood pressure or pulse, the session is free." She's confident because she knows it works.
Clients describe overwhelming sensations of calm, peace, clarity, and connection.
Lori offers individual sessions, private group sessions (your group only).
