Everyone recognizes this symbol…

But almost no one knows this.

This is not Germany.
This is Lalibela, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 — carved into stone centuries before modern history gave it a different meaning.

So what does it actually mean?

🔹 Some say it represents eternity — a continuous loop with no beginning or end.
🔹 Others see sacred geometry, reflecting divine order and balance.
🔹 Some interpret it as “7777”, connecting it to spiritual completeness.

🌍 And here’s where it gets even more interesting…

Similar symbols appear in ancient India, where they represent:

Well-being

Cosmic order

Good fortune

So is this a coincidence… or a shared ancient language?

Ethiopia was once deeply connected to global trade routes linking Africa, Arabia, and India.
Ideas, symbols, and philosophies didn’t stay in one place—they moved.

Or… different civilizations may have simply discovered the same truths about life, balance, and the universe.

At Lalibela, nothing was random.
Even the walls speak.

Africa didn’t just build… it encoded meaning into everything.

So the real question is —
what do YOU see?

Kenya🇰🇪 says its citizens will no longer be allowed to enlist in Russia’s war in Ukraine following growing concerns over recruitment practices.

Reports suggest that over 1,000 Kenyans were recruited — with some allegedly misled by promises of jobs, only to end up in combat.

The agreement comes after pressure from families and rising scrutiny over international recruitment networks targeting African youth.

More than six decades after the assassination of Congo’s first Prime Minister, Patrice Lumumba, a Belgian court has ordered a former diplomat to stand trial in connection with the case.

Lumumba became a symbol of African independence — and his killing marked a turning point in Congo’s post-colonial history.
Belgium previously acknowledged its “moral responsibility.”

Now, the legal system is being asked to go further.

While global headlines often focus on Africa’s challenges, the continent’s financial markets quietly had a strong year.

Stock exchanges across Africa surged in 2025, with markets like Ghana and Nigeria posting major gains and attracting renewed investor attention.
As capital markets continue to grow, they could become a major engine for entrepreneurship, investment, and economic expansion across the continent.

A new opinion piece is raising concerns about what some call a “biomedical scramble for Africa.”

As global health partnerships expand across the continent, critics say some agreements could give foreign institutions access to sensitive health data and pathogen samples without clear guarantees that African nations will share equally in the benefits of research or pharmaceutical development.

Supporters argue these collaborations bring vital funding and disease-control support.
Critics say Africa must negotiate stronger protections for data ownership, research sovereignty, and fair benefit sharing.

Sudan’s ongoing conflict is not only taking lives — it is also erasing history.
Museums across Sudan have been looted or damaged during the war, with thousands of priceless artifacts disappearing from cultural institutions, including the National Museum in Khartoum.

Experts say more than 20 museums have been damaged, and tens of thousands of artifacts — some dating back thousands of years to ancient Nubian and Kush*te civilizations — have been stolen or destroyed.

Portable objects such as statues, gold items, pottery, and archaeological pieces were reportedly taken during the fighting, while larger artifacts remain in damaged buildings.

For historians, archaeologists & of course African Family, the loss goes beyond material value.
These objects represent centuries of cultural memory.
