The Brush & The Palette
Hi folks, thanks for stopping by our Bakke Signs & Lettering page. I started my sign career as a young man in 1985 by attending the two-year Sign Lettering & Design program at the Detroit Lakes, Mn. Area Vocational & Technical Institute. During those two years I learned the art of brush lettering, good sign design, and the nimble sport of Hacky-Sack.
After graduating, I moved to Dickinson North Dakota with my bride Dori and worked for Scenic Sign Company where I performed layout, lettering, vinyl application, and spray booth responsibilities. From there, we moved to Dallas Tx. and attended Christ for the Nations Bible Institute. A blessing came along when our daughter was born and I was fortunate to be employed at a family sign shop called Trinity Graphics handling a variety of tasks including layout, vinyl application, lettering, and sign installation around the Dallas area.
We moved back to Minnesota with a pastoral degree in 1990, were blessed with the arrival of our son, and pursued rural ministry. I have maintained my sign trade as garage guy while performing various pastoral and missions opportunities.
God Bless Ya,
David Bakke
