ensity as compared with conventional worm gearing currently in use. The improvements are achieved by using rolling contact between gear mating surfaces, replacing the rubbing and sliding gear contact in conventional worm gears. Rolling worm gears use less energy and require less lubrication because they produce less friction than conventional worm gear systems.
