We’re excited to spotlight Albert “Skip” Rizzo, PhD—Clinical Psychologist, Research Professor, and Director at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies for Medical Virtual Reality. We’re incredibly grateful for the depth of expertise and leadership Dr. Rizzo brings to the Mynd Immersive Advisory Board.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rizzo has been at the forefront of clinical XR, with work that has positively impacted thousands of lives. In 2025, he was inducted into the XR Hall of Fame as a Pioneer in Virtual Reality for Psychological and Cognitive Healthcare. He is widely known for developing BRAVEMIND, a VR system for PTSD treatment, and his contributions also extend to VR applications for autism, ADHD, stroke rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury recovery. He also has a long research history designing, developing, and evaluating Conversational AI-driven Virtual Human agents for clinical training and patient support.
