Just wrapped up another entrepreneurial journal interview!

In it, I share some thoughts on imposter syndrome and the person who’s been my biggest cheerleader, both in business and in life. Any guesses? 😍 Give it a read if you're curious about the behind-the-scenes of my journey!

Also excited to announce that I’m now offering web design services in Showit! I’m booking limited clients for summer, so if you’re looking for a fresh site (or need help figuring out where to start), feel free to reach out!

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Callie Saigh. We hope

Wow, I just put a client meeting on the calendar for January 2025! I can't believe 2024 is starting to wrap up, and what a whirlwind it’s been for me and my little biz! Especially this fall, it’s been non-stop. Over the last couple of months, I launched four brand-new websites, and wanted to spread the word:
✨ Shoutout to Colleen McGovern, a fellow Phish Chick, who trusted me to create her funky graphic design website: mcgoverngraphicdesign.com.
✨ I also tackled my biggest project yet for a Colorado nonprofit bringing community solutions to the climate crisis: fourcore.org.
✨ I helped a high school senior from Southern California showcase his talent in sports videography with a killer portfolio site: jaydonckmedia.com.
✨ And last but not least, I revamped my neighborhood HOA website as one of the newest (and youngest) members of the board: thraemoor.com.
With all that, my books are officially closed for 2024 while I shift my focus to my Etsy shop for the holiday rush. I’m already booking projects for January, so if you’ve been dreaming of launching that new website, let’s make 2025 your year. Message me now to snag a spot!
And because it’s all about balance, here’s a snap from my recent mountain bike adventure in Moab. Because if you work hard, you’ve gotta play hard, too 😜
Happy Holidays, friends!!

I could name a few reasons why I’m working hard to build this business, but one that is driven by a deep purpose and ignites my soul are these two right here… My hustle isn’t just about chasing success; it’s about setting an example for my kids, showing them the power of a passionate heart and dedication.

A little late, but no less meaningful, Happy Mother’s Day to all the ones out there teaching the next generation to chase their dreams!

It’s okay to take a break! Just taking a quick minute to pop in your feed and give you an update on what I’ve been up to and where my focus has been - because it obviously hasn’t been social media ;)

As a solopreneur, you are responsible for everything in your business - and it’s A LOT! Business planning, marketing, accounting, legal, sales, client management, on top of actually providing the service/product you’re selling to your clients. And all the while trying to focus on personal and professional development. This includes continuously learning and improving your skills, staying updated with industry trends, seeking feedback, and investing in your own professional development.

This month marks 2 years since I launched Rise Up Web Design!! And while my design calendar has been consistently booked 3+months out, I have been yearning for community and tools to help me grow my skills. I am excited to share that last week I joined the Squarespace Designer Growth Community, where I, along with a handful of other designers, will come together to level up our design skills, create a supportive community, and receive 1:1 business coaching from one of the most influential Squarespace designers out there.

As I continue to focus on my personal and professional development, I will most likely continue this mindful social media break…but do know that I’m still out here kicking butt behind the screen. Can’t wait to share all the new sites and content I’ve been working on … but all in due time, friends!

It’s true when people say small business owners have a never ending to-do list - there is ALWAYS something to do! I have a huge backlog of new client sites to share with everyone, but today I’m pushing this one to the top because I just couldn’t wait to simultaneously share the unbelievably kind words I received last night from my clients after the launch of their new website a few weeks ago.

As part of my initiative to give back, I offered a pro-bono design spot to a newly formed nonprofit here in Colorado, called the Southwest Colorado Wolf Cooperative, which is an unincorporated association of individuals who came together to support the restoration of wolves to their vital role as apex predators in Colorado’s ecosystems. For those that are unaware, Colorado voted to restore wolves back to their natural environment in 2020. This was, rightfully so, a hugely controversial topic, with very strong opinions on both sides of the ballot. After the proposition was passed, the SWCO Wolf Coop came together to offer experience- and science-based information to our communities about the ecological benefits of wolves, wolf biology, and living and recreating with wolves on the shared landscape. Their mission is to provide a bridge to both sides to see how everyone can work together to minimize the potential adverse effects of wolves on human stakeholders and maximize the benefits of wolves’ presence on our landscapes.

This website was truly a labor of love - a project we have been working on since June! Featuring a complex navigation menu, up-to-date blog, and various external links, this is an easily navigable, comprehensive website housing a large amount of information. I’m thrilled with how this one came out, and it seems like the clients are thrilled, too- check comments to read some feedback from the team.

Attn: Phish Chicks! Welcome to a couple new faces this week 😉 Perfect excuse to get a new post out … to be honest, life’s been throwing me my own curveballs lately, but I’m still dancing along, surrendering to the flow, and making small business owners online dreams come true ✨

The Phish community has been invaluable in helping me build two fairly successful businesses - the first being my Etsy shop www.chalkdustcouture.com, which is page side raging right now for the holiday season(link in stories)!! And the second being Rise Up Web Design, where a majority of my clients have been Phish fans. So, I thought I would do a little tribute post to all these awesome ladies killin’ it out there in their own unique and amazing ways! Please show your support by giving these chicks a follow and check out their services/goods on their beautiful websites - all designed by yours truly ❤️

This a quick post for previous clients that have a Squarespace 7.1 site and might have noticed the “UPGRADE” button when editing their sites. If you haven’t heard, this summer Squarespace released a new content editing experience named Fluid Engine. And although the new editor has been available for a couple months now, I wanted to wait to share some feedback until I had the chance to use it myself.

Soo what I do have to say?! After using the new Fluid Engine for the last few client builds….I LOVE IT! It definitely takes some getting used to, especially if you don’t have any experience in other DIY site builders such as WIX or Showit, but overall this new system supports an easier “drag and drop” experience. No longer do we need to add 10 spacer blocks or use extensive code to make images the appropriate size - just drag and drop your site elements throughout the grid system. Less coding makes it easier for clients to update their sites without compromising the quality of the design or having to mess with the CSS panel.

Additionally, one of my favorite improvements is the new mobile editor! While the new mobile layout does add additional time to the overall process, we can finally create a mobile design that is different from desktop - and there’s a big upside to that from a conversion standpoint.

If you’re interested in learning more on how this new editor will effect your site, or if you’d like a tutorial on how to use the new system, please reach out! I’d be happy to help you navigate all the exciting changes.

You guys!! I’m so freaking excited to share my newest client site . Adrienne’s stunning art was such a joy to work with, and helped make this design effortlessly beautiful. I’m always saying, the output of a web design project can only be as good as the input from the client - and Adrienne’s site is the PERFECT example of this! From her professional product shots and stunning headshots, to the hand drawn icons and exquisitely written artist statements, everything she provided was top notch quality.

Please take the time to peep her shop, read her heady words, and show some support to this inspiring artist! I’m obsessed. Thanks, Adrienne - it was such an honor to work with you and help you launch your new website!
