What a fantastic evening at the Colorado Professional Videographers Association’s Multi-Camera Videography meetup!

A huge thank you to Gary Kleiner of Mobile Pro Video for sharing decades of experience and practical insights into planning, shooting, and editing multi-camera productions. From live performances and special events to corporate productions, Gary delivered a wealth of knowledge that sparked great discussion and plenty of questions from attendees.

Even more exciting was the energy in the room. It was wonderful to see such a strong mix of seasoned professionals, emerging talent, and students networking, sharing ideas, and strengthening Colorado’s video production community.

If you missed this one, don’t worry—we’ve got another great event coming soon! Next month we’ll be hosting a panel discussion featuring professional location sound recordists and field audio specialists. We’ll dive into real-world audio strategies, when to bring in an audio professional, common challenges in the field, and lessons learned from commercial, documentary, and feature productions.

Stay tuned for the announcement and be sure to RSVP early. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next CoPVA meetup!

⚡ Day 3 of Transportation & Construction Girl (TCG) Career Week with the Hoya Foundation brought us to Encore Electric, where students got an up-close look at the people, technology, and opportunities that power our communities every day.

Encore Electric has grown into one of the region’s leading electrical contractors, providing innovative electrical construction, service, and technology solutions across a wide range of industries. Their commitment to workforce development and investing in future generations was on full display as they welcomed our students and shared insights into careers in the skilled trades.

As the owner of Professional Video & Photography, I have the privilege of documenting these incredible experiences. But just as meaningful to me is my role as an instructor at Red Rocks Community College. Watching my students work alongside industry professionals—capturing photos, producing video, conducting interviews, and telling stories—reminds me why I love teaching. There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing emerging media professionals gain real-world experience while helping showcase opportunities for the next generation.

Today’s photos and video highlight two groups of future leaders: the Career Week participants exploring potential career paths and the talented Red Rocks students behind the cameras documenting the journey.

A huge thank you to Encore Electric for opening their doors and to the Hoya Foundation for continuing to create life-changing opportunities through Transportation & Construction Girl Career Week.

Career Week 2026 is officially underway!

Day 1 - Today our student media team is on location with Swinerton, cameras rolling and PPE on, documenting an incredible day of career exploration for young women learning about opportunities in transportation, construction, engineering, and the skilled trades.

As the owner of Professional Video & Photography and an instructor at Red Rocks Community College, there are few things that bring me more joy than seeing the next generation of storytellers step into the field. Watching these students put their classroom skills into practice, work with professional equipment, and create meaningful visual stories is exactly why I am so passionate about photo and video production.

It truly warms my heart to see this emerging talent out in the field, collaborating, problem-solving, and growing as media professionals while helping tell the stories of organizations that are making a difference in our communities.

A huge thank you to Hoya Foundation and Swinerton Builders Denver for investing in these students and creating opportunities that inspire future careers. These experiences are invaluable, and we’re honored to help document them.

Our students are fully equipped with professional production gear, safety equipment, and plenty of enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see the stories they create throughout Career Week 2026.

Proud of the Red Rocks Community College Video Streaming Team for their work helping livestream graduation this year.

Live event production is one of those areas of video production where there are no “do overs.” It takes planning, teamwork, communication, technical problem-solving, and the ability to adapt in real time—and these students stepped up to the challenge.

From camera operation and shot coordination to switching, streaming, audio, and production support, the team worked hard behind the scenes to help make an important day accessible for families, friends, and supporters who couldn’t attend in person.

One of the things I appreciate most about working with students in live production environments is watching the growth happen in real time. Classroom learning is important, but there’s something special about applying those skills during an actual live event where every role matters.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to mentor and work alongside these up-and-coming production professionals. Their dedication, teamwork, and willingness to learn continue to remind me why I enjoy teaching and staying actively involved in this industry.

Congratulations to the graduates—and great work by the RRCC Video Streaming Team. 🎥🎓

One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is having the opportunity to teach the next generation of video production professionals at Red Rocks Community College.

Every semester, I’m reminded that teaching isn’t just about passing along technical skills—it’s about learning, growing, collaborating, and helping students discover their own creative voice and confidence behind the camera.

These students continue to impress me with their creativity, work ethic, and willingness to push themselves outside their comfort zones. It’s exciting to watch new talent develop and see the future of our industry taking shape right in the classroom.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share real-world experience from the production industry while also continuing to learn and grow alongside my students. The classroom becomes a place where ideas, storytelling, technology, and creativity all come together—and that’s something I never take for granted.

To all of my Video 1 students: thank you for your hard work, your energy, and the trust you place in the process. Keep creating. Keep experimenting. Keep telling stories.

The future of video production is bright. 🎥
