Armed with a glowing lure, striped horns, and a mouth full of needle-like teeth, these swift surface-skimmers patrol the waterways looking for their next unsuspecting victim. Small in size but big on attitude, they're notorious for one thing above all else: biting ankles and asking questions never. 💡🐟🐑

Two powerhouse women of Golden took on a big endeavor. They bought an inn. A Historic Inn. The wondrous Stagecoach landmark is nestled in downtown Golden (behind my most favorite brewery Mountain Toad) and it’s OFFICIALLY OPEN!

Titled Estrella de Oro Historic Inn (Spanish for Golden Star), the name honors both the property's location in Golden and the star-bright hospitality that has always defined it.

This brand identity is one of my favorites (on par with Amanda’s The Whicker Hive, her food truck management biz). I worked with Amanda at the Toad when I was there for four years. Rosie was the founder and chef of a fabulous food truck Cilantro & Perejil serving delicious Mexican cuisine. She left that industry and is now the co-owner alongside Amanda.

Kudos to Chris with Golden History Tours for the website design. There will be new photography of the Inn’s modern updates to come, plus a café with a taste of Oaxacan flavor that is on pause for now. Stay tuned!

After a solid 30 years of this painting sitting on many different walls of the homes I lived in, as well as a gallery, I am ready to let go of it and have it grace your wall now.

I created this oil painting I named "We Laugh, We Cry, We Sing" back in college, based on a little itty bitty photo from National Geographic. I know, you probably thought I was in Africa when this inspiration hit. I wrangled up some wild ass zebras and told them to strike a pose and sit there for a few hours. I prefer portrait sits over photo-mimicking.

This painting is hand-stretched by me and it's 3' x 3' 5" wide. I have no clue why I didn't just make it 3 by 3. Drunk college kid? Most likely. I blame my college friends. You know who you are. Rick. Brian. Julie. The volleyball club hazers. Sorry about that night Steve. Perhaps you can restretch it if you really need it 3x3 for a frame. Unless you go custom or leave it bare like I did. The edges are painted black at least.

I say best price wins, but don't go cheap on me. I am your friend and an artist. You should damn well support this craft of mine. Wink wink.

Happy New Year my Social Media Family!
