A CNC machine Shop paid us $45k for SEO.
We made them $2.5M back in 9 months.
That’s $55 for every $1 invested on us for organic growth.
Here’s the SEO strategy we used:
They said we have to target internationally. But my team and I decided to first target the local whole Texas.
That is the issue I saw with many machine shops: they ignore the potential in their local area.
1. Built pages that actually make money (not “Services” junk).
Their site had one generic page called “Machining services”.
Useless.
We killed it.
Then built high-intent money pages like:
“AS9100 Certified CNC Turning Service In Texas - ITAR Registered CNC Milling Service In Texas, Aerospace, Defence, Energy, Process and many others that build authority in Google and Cited in AI and show in AI recommendations"
People searching this aren’t browsing.
They’re already stressed.
They want their parts machined today.
Those pages convert like crazy.
2. We stop educating and start selling (The Money Page Rewrite).
Before us this machine shop site read like a school textbook.
Their old content was full of junk like:
“What is CNC milling?”
“Advantages of CNC Milling”
“Compare CNC Milling to CNC Turning”
Useless.
A procurement engineer with a $100k contract doesn't need a lesson. He knows what a mill is.
He’s stressed. He has a deadline. He’s looking for a shop that won't screw up his tolerances or miss his delivery date.
He wants to know about your spindle time, your AS9100 specs, and your Inconel experience.
So we killed the "Wikipedia" content.
We built high-intent pages that answer one thing: "Can you make my part?"
We optimized the content intent for "Money Traffic" only.
We stopped chasing students and started chasing inbound RFQs.
The result?
The traffic we get now has a blueprint in their hand and a budget in their pocket.
3. Wrote technical blog content that pulls trust + rankings.
Most machine shop owners think blogs are pointless.
Wrong.
We wrote stuff like:
“How Thermal Expansion in Texas Heat Impacts Aluminum Machining Tolerances”
This did 3 things:
Proved engineering expertise
Built local trust
Pushed service pages up in Google
Locals shared it. Google rewarded it.
Build local authority
4. Fixed internal linking (the most ignored SEO lever).
Their site was a dead end.
No links between:
Services
Blogs
Homepage
We connected everything logically:
CNC Turning → blog → homepage → 5-Axis Milling → RFQ page
Google finally understood the site.
Pages that were invisible started climbing fast.
5. Google Business Profile optimization.
Most shops half-ass this. We didn’t.
Uploaded real shop photos (CNC Mills, Lathes, Projects Done, CMM Reports - no stock trash)
Got 10+ legit reviews fast
Fixed categories, services, descriptions, hours, and weekly updates and events
That alone moved them into the local 3-pack and getting calls.
6. Built real backlinks (not spammy directory crap).
No Fiverr links. No fake press releases.
We:
Got guest posts on manufacturing & industrial sites
Did link swaps with local metal suppliers
Placed links on authority sites that actually rank
That’s what separated them from every other machine shop stuck on page 3 to 10.
7. Stopped chasing “big” keywords and went full local.
They wanted to rank for: “Best machine shop” “CNC Turning” “CNC Milling’
Pointless.
We focused only on like:
“CNC Machining Houston”
“Precision Milling Dallas”
“AS9100 Certified Machine Shop Texas”
These keywords don’t bring traffic.
They bring RFQs.
They were a medium company.
Struggling to get inbound calls.
Living off word-of-mouth and random referrals.
Now?
They’re booked out weeks in advance and turning away low-ticket jobs.
All thanks to Manufacturing SEO done right.
This is possible only because of our industry specialty. We don't guess. We know exactly what works for a machine shop because we speak the language of the shop floor—from spindle speeds to ITAR compliance.
This is how we took their inbound contracts all organically to $2.5M in just 9 months.
If you also run a machine shop and you're getting only word-of-mouth or "bottom-feeder" leads that haggle over every penny...
I know you’re too busy managing operators, material lead times, and QC reports to be an SEO expert. You're an expert in machining; we are the experts in getting your shop in front of the Tier 1 procurement officers who have the budget you want.
But I can only take 2 machine shops this quarter to scale them to a consistent flow of high-margin RFQs.
