The story of Latine heritage in America is also the story of labor.
From the Bracero Program, where Mexican laborers were brought in to fuel U.S. agriculture only to be discarded later — to today’s migrant workers who live in fear under shifting policies — Latine labor has always been essential, yet undervalued.
Hispanic Heritage Month is not just about celebration. It’s about truth.
And the truth is: America cannot exist without the hands, hearts, and resilience of Latine workers.
Coming Together means remembering the labor that built this nation, and the people who still sustain it today.
