Google is always testing something, and their most recent experiment is the size of the “Skip Ad” button on YouTube Ads.

I’ve included a screenshot of the “Skip Ad” button that we all know and love as well as the one that they’re testing, so you can compare.

This could be a win for advertisers, because the smaller button is significantly less noticeable which may decrease the number of people pressing skip and increase the number of people actually watching the ads, clicking on them and (hopefully) converting.

Haven’t seen it yet? Me neither, it’s still in Beta - but it’s very likely that we will run across it soon.

Google has recently introduced two powerful upgrades to Performance Max, and we couldn't be more thrilled!

Now, advertisers can enhance their campaign performance and boost ROI across channels by incorporating Dynamic Search Ads (DSA) and Google Display Ads (GDA)

The good news is that these upgrades are voluntary, meaning you have the choice to opt-in and take advantage of the benefits they offer.

🔧 Key Features and Benefits:
1️⃣ Inventory-Aware Ad Serving: With this feature, you can ensure that out-of-stock product pages won't appear in Search ads. Google's AI automatically factors in your product inventory, saving you time and effort.
2️⃣ More Converting Search Queries: Performance Max's AI utilizes your campaign's creative assets to identify high-converting search queries. This is especially valuable for brands with landing pages that have minimal content.
3️⃣ Enhanced Control: Now, you can find created text assets in the asset reporting table, giving you the flexibility to delete text assets as needed.
4️⃣ Serving User Intent Effectively: Performance Max uses automatically created assets to customize Search ads, better aligning them with consumer intent.

Google Ads is constantly evolving, and they are currently testing a new feature that will make it easier for users to find products and services similar to the ones they're searching for.

The feature is called "Similar," and it is currently appearing alongside shopping ads. By clicking on the "show similar" button, users will see a dynamic carousel that showcases a range of products similar to the one they were initially looking at.

The "Similar" button will enable searchers to navigate through shopping ads and find what they're looking for more quickly. For instance, if a user is searching for a specific type of shoe, the "Similar" button will show them a range of shoes that are similar to the ones they initially searched for.

This new feature will not only improve the user experience but also provide advertisers with more opportunities to showcase their products to potential customers. The dynamic carousel of similar products will enable advertisers to present their products to a broader audience, increasing the likelihood of making a sale.

Currently, Google is testing the "Similar" button, and it is only appearing alongside shopping ads. However, if it proves to be successful, it may be rolled out more broadly across Google Ads.

👀 Exciting news! Google Ads Performance Max is getting a major upgrade! 🚀 New targeting options, YouTube audio ads integration, dynamic ad creatives, and asset level reporting to measure ROI! 📊

Considering most of our paid search clients are allocating between 30-50% of their budget on the Google Side to Performance Max - I was extremely excited when I found out about a bunch of updates that Google will be making.

These updates include the ability to create campaigns that target specific demographics, geographic locations, and devices, as well as a new integration with YouTube's audio ads.

Additionally, there are new options for optimizing campaigns for conversions, as well as the ability to use dynamic ad creatives that automatically adjust to fit various ad formats.

The icing on the cake for me was finding out that they will also be providing us with asset level reporting. This will allow us to see which assets (headlines, descriptions, creatives, videos, etc.) generated conversions as well as the revenue and ROAS each asset has driven.

While these updates were announced a little over a month ago, Google has yet to tell us when we can see these features in the platform.

Google is testing a new verification badge for Google Ads to help users identify legitimate businesses.

The badge will be displayed on the advertiser’s Google Ads profile, indicating that the business has undergone Google’s verification process and has been authenticated as a legitimate business.

The goal of this badge is to increase user trust in the ads they see and reduce the potential for fraud.

The test is currently limited to a small group of advertisers in the US, and there is no word yet on when or if the feature will be rolled out more broadly.
