Our IG page has been suspended and we wrote a letter to them:

Subject: Appeal for Account Suspension - Discriminatory Treatment

Dear Instagram Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am the creator of the Instagram page “bbw_onl.”

I am writing to appeal the suspension of my account, which I believe was a result of discriminatory treatment against content that promotes size acceptance and body positivity.

B*WOnline is a platform that aims to empower plus-size women and challenge societal stereotypes related to body image. Our content focuses on promoting self-love, confidence, and embracing one’s body, irrespective of size. While I respect Instagram’s community guidelines and content policies, I believe our recent suspension was unwarranted and inconsistent.

The specific post in question featured two plus-size women wearing bikinis while dancing by the pool. It is essential to emphasize that the content did not involve nudity or explicit material, and the intention was solely to foster body positivity and acceptance.

My concern arises from the apparent discrepancy in how content featuring plus-size individuals is treated compared to content featuring individuals of other body types. There seem to be millions of videos on Instagram showcasing slimmer individuals showing more skin, which do not face similar consequences. This disparity raises concerns of bias and discrimination against fat or plus-size individuals.

As a promoter of inclusivity and diversity, I strongly urge Instagram to reevaluate the decision to suspend my account and to reconsider the guidelines applied to content like ours. I believe it is vital for social media platforms to foster an environment that celebrates all body types equally.

I kindly request your assistance in reinstating the “bbw_onl” account so that we can continue to spread a positive message and create a safe space for plus-size individuals to feel accepted and loved.
