Most of you probably don’t know this, but I’ve been a Field Producer for almost 5 years now, producing photo activations for Dear World
You might be wondering, what does that actually mean?
When it comes to producing events, I’m responsible for the logistics behind the scenes: finding and coordinating rental gear, hiring and managing crew, communicating with clients and attendees, coordinating the production team, managing file delivery, helping with setup and teardown, and honestly, a whole lot more.
For this event, we had 6 photo activations covering more than 1,200 students.
By the end of the event, we delivered 3,600+ images.
There’s a lot that goes into making an activation look simple from the outside. My job is to make sure all those moving pieces come together so the experience runs smoothly for everyone involved.
And after almost 5 years of doing this, I’ve learned that good production is about being prepared for the things you don’t see coming.
