Business owners tend to think that in order to sell their products or services, they have to flood their site and ads with all of the accomplishments they have made over the years. (our company is so great because we have accomplished this ...)
But the truth is, consumers, don't really care to hear it.
Now, don't get me wrong. Is it important to have PR and case studies? Yes.
But should the front page of your website or landing page be about you?
Absolutely not.
The first thing consumers want to know is that you understand how they are feeling and that you are going to care about them.
Ask yourself, on my website and in my marketing materials, am I talking directly to the pains and desires of my ideal audience? Or am I just talking about how great I am?
If you notice that you are, in fact, ignoring your ideal customer by not speaking directly to them in your copy, and rather, speaking about yourself, the first thing to do is to halt all advertising dollars and redo your copy (or get a copywriter that can help you) and express how much you truly care about your customers.
Do avatar emersion exercises, directly message your customers about their opinions, or run polls on your pages to help you identify what they TRULY want from your product or service. Speak to their emotions. Really learn to care about them.
Use your impressive reviews and case studies on the bottom of your landing page and website as a means to add persuasion for the ones still needing a bit more convincing.
This is going to make all of the difference in your business's marketing campaign results- we promise.
