Running local SEO for a business with multiple locations?

Each legitimate location should have its own Google Business Profile connected to the correct location landing page. Sending every GBP to the homepage can weaken the location-specific signals you’re trying to build.

In this video, I cover:

✅ GBP-to-location-page setup
✅ Accurate NAP information and citations
✅ Location-specific content
✅ LocalBusiness schema
✅ Google Map embeds
✅ Contextual reviews for each location

“When it comes” appeared 76 times in the website’s n-gram report.

That’s the kind of repetition you can miss when reviewing one page at a time.

In my latest video, I connect Screaming Frog to Claude through MCP to analyze repeated words and phrases across an HVAC website.

I walk through what n-grams are, how to find them in Screaming Frog, and how Claude helps turn the crawl data into a report you can work with.

We look at repeated filler, generic “Read More” anchor text, and opportunities to make the content clearer and more specific.

Then organic clicks jumped.

No new backlinks.
No major on page changes during the update.
Google appeared to reassess the work that was already there.

Here are a few things I had done to strengthen the site’s semantic SEO:

• Question based headings were answered immediately in the first sentence below them.

• Paragraphs stayed focused on the subject introduced by the heading.

• Filler was removed so nearly every sentence contributed useful information.

• Related entities and concepts were included where they helped explain the topic, not simply to add more keywords.

• The content was structured so users and search engines could quickly understand what each section was about.

I can’t say these changes caused the increase. Algorithm updates involve many systems, and correlation is not causation.

But this is a good example of why I focus on building clear, information dense content instead of chasing every update.

Screaming Frog can now connect directly to Claude through MCP.

I tested it on a real contractor site and had Claude find generic internal links like “Learn More,” analyze the destination pages, and suggest better contextual anchor text.

This gets really useful once you’re working with larger sites and don’t want to manually review every internal link.

Not all businesses are treated the same in local search.

Google may consider a restaurant too far away while still considering a medical clinic within range.

Why?

Because the acceptable distance can change based on the type of business and the intent behind the search.

I found a Google patent that explains how this can work.

Watch the video below.

Does Google treat distance the same way for every type of local bus...

Seeing a redirect error in Google Search Console doesn’t always mean something is broken.

WordPress often adds a trailing slash to URLs automatically. This can cause the non-trailing-slash version to appear as a redirect error, even when it is properly redirecting with a 301.

In this video, I show you how to check the redirect yourself with one simple Terminal command.

I came back to one of my own websites and found that the category pages were too thin.

Add AI Directory uses Next.js, and many of the category pages were mainly made up of tool cards. I strengthened the pages by adding useful HTML content, including comparison tables, category information, internal links, selection guidance, and FAQs.

JavaScript itself is not automatically bad for SEO. But when important content depends on JavaScript, Google may need to do additional rendering before it can fully process the page.

The takeaway: check your most important pages, make sure the main content is available in the initial HTML, and give Google enough useful information to understand what each page is about.

What if an AI model knows a fact about your business but still cannot retrieve it when someone asks?

A new Google research paper describes two different problems:

• “Empty shelves”: The model never learned the fact
• “Lost keys”: The fact is encoded, but the model cannot access it from that particular question

The second problem is especially interesting for AI SEO.

Models often retrieve a relationship more easily in the direction they encountered during training. They may understand:

“Marie Curie won the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics.”

But struggle when asked:

“Who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903?”

In this video, I break down what this means for brands trying to appear accurately in ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI, and other AI-powered search systems.

The practical takeaway: Do not communicate an important business fact in only one way. Clearly establish the entity, relationship, and context. Cover the natural questions people may ask from multiple directions.

This does not guarantee AI visibility, but it gives retrieval systems clearer and more complete information to work with.

Watch the full breakdown below. 👇

Been working heavily on AI search visibility lately, and this one was killer.

We tracked how a client appears across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI, and Perplexity across hundreds of responses.

The result?

37.8% AI visibility.
29% share of voice.

Average position: #1.7. 😊

#1 overall against the competitive set.

And the best part is seeing *why*.

Which pages are being cited. Which sources the models trust. Which topics we dominate. Where competitors are still winning. And exactly where the next opportunities are.

SEO isn't just about ranking in Google anymore.

You need to understand how your brand is being retrieved, cited, and recommended by AI systems too.

This was a fun one.

One Google Business Profile mistake can get your post rejected, removed, or even put your profile at risk.

Here are five GBP mistakes businesses should avoid:

1. Stuffing keywords into the business name
2. Buying or incentivizing Google reviews
3. Reposting the same repetitive content
4. Publishing misleading offers or claims
5. Placing phone numbers directly in GBP posts

The video explains what to do instead, with clear examples based on Google’s guidelines.
