It's final, they chose Electric Desert!!!

I am so honored to be part of this project and grateful to everyone who supported me along the way, showed up for the presentation and offered love and encouragement.

The award follows a nearly two-year selection and planning process led by Laura Henkel, Ph.D., Founder and Managing Director of ArtCulture PR Working alongside KGA Architecture and Whiting-Turner Construction, Henkel directed the curatorial strategy and artist selection for this project. She has a talent for connecting the right artist with the right opportunity, navigating complex projects, and helping move ideas forward.

What many people don't know is that when I was first presented as a finalist, there were concerns about whether I had completed a project at this scale. Laura believed in me and my resourceful capabilities, and fought for the opportunity to have my work considered. Because of her advocacy, I was given the chance to present, added to the City's mural artist roster, and ultimately awarded this commission. Booyah!

The project was commissioned through the City of Las Vegas Government Public Art Program under the leadership of Laura Machado Public and Visual Arts Section Manager for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. To bring the mural to life, I will once again collaborate with Las Vegas-based ISI Group, an arts collective and consulting group specializing in large scale custom mural work. Led by President Dana Anderson, ISI Group has partnered with me on numerous large-scale murals over the past decade. They always kill it, professional, fast and talented!!!

Las Vegas has always been a city of dreamers, builders, risk-takers, and creators. Electric Desert is a celebration of that spirit. It honors our history, embraces our crazy, and reflects the energy and optimism that continue to shape our future. I ❤️ VEGAS. , ,

Such a rewarding experience helping refresh and beautify the Nevada Youth Network building with a new community mural titled "More Love". There’s nothing better than using creativity to give back, brighten a space, and watch the kids light up. Art has the power to bring people together, inspire hope, and make a community feel seen.
