Branding and social media graphics design for the new event the Cocktail Trail 🍹 ⁣starting today!
⁣
The is a collaboration with local bars, restaurants and the Lawrence Restaurant Association to raise funds the the Hospitality Workers Relief Fund. $1 from each cocktail trail cocktail goes to the fund. The fund exists for any hospitality worker in need of financial assistance. ⁣
⁣
This was a really fun project to work on and the clients were so easy breezy! I can’t wait to get out and try these drinks 🥃 ⁣

Numbers and data aren’t my thing, but I get a special pleasure from organizing it all into something easier to digest. I once worked at a bank and was told I “didn’t need to color code everything”… ummm yes I do. ⁣

After establishing the brand identity and logo design, Sus and I embarked on a brand new website. The professional website design brings a feeling of legitimacy to the life changing services that Sus provides by keeping their brand clean and consistent wether clients find them from social media, their print material, or recommendation. ⁣
⁣

Sus was looking for a logo and brand that was gender neutral, incorporated elements of nature, and considered earthly geometry. They gave me the keywords embodiment, journey, centered, calm, completeness, and two parts of one whole. Some of the visual inspiration we started with were the trans symbol, the goddess symbol, and gender symbols. ⁣

Companion Midwifery offers full midwife and fertility services by the certified professional midwife, Sus Jones. Sus is also an Intraunterine Insemination Provider, a Yoga & Natural Movement Instructor, a Prenatal & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, a Placenta Remedy Specialist, and my favorite: a long time friend. ⁣
⁣
Sus has always been one of the most gentle, selfless, and nurturing people I’ve ever known. They are the type of friend you worry might not save enough love for themselves.⁣
⁣
Witnessing Sus follow their dreams over the last several years to achieve these many professional certifications, and get to know themselves in a deeper way in the process, has really been a gift. ⁣
⁣
The first time Sus and I sat down to talk about Companion Midwifery, I learned just how incredibly important this service is. Sus will be the first, and currently only, certified professional midwife in Kansas centered around q***r and trans reproductive services. This means that LGBTQAI folks will be able to work with someone who personally understands them and can plan their care around that, instead of in spite of it. So in their journey to becoming a parent/s they won’t have to worry about how their identity will impact their care- the same care that cis/hetero people are afforded everyday. ⁣

I love working with clients who are going to make a big difference. When the client is also an incredible human I’m lucky to call a friend, it’s heaven. Love you, Sus! ⁣

I am so behind on posting all the projects I’ve worked on during the black hole that was the last two years. And this one. THIS ONE! I truly can’t believe I haven’t shared it. ⁣

Elizabeth was such a dream to work with and really let me try out some fun and quirky things. She has big dreams. BIG! And nothing is holding her back. So she needed a site that could grow with her that she could easily access and update. ⁣

From the day we had our website training for her new site she hit the ground running and she hasn’t stopped. I don’t think this energizer bunny ever will 🐇 and we’re all better for it! Vibe is an event space that hosts unique yoga and fitness classes regularly. You may not be able to get Sylas & Maddy’s ice cream here anymore, but you CAN take a yoga class with a bunch of fabulous people and then have a local beer or get a hydra facial after! You can also add them to your list of places to host your next event in beautiful downtown Lawrence. ⁣

I’m so happy another local business is making their new home in this great space. I know that Jenna loves this community and has a passion for bringing new, fun businesses and services to us all.⁣

I’m so happy I can help you turn your visions into a reality ! BTW, Jenna changed careers, gave birth, and weathered the pandemic while opening this business. So she’s a FORCE y’all! ⁣

The Story of the Pin:
I traveled by plane for the first time since February 2020 in September. I was, somehow once again, completely shocked at how difficult people were and so sad when I saw how exhausted and poorly treated the flight attendants and airport staff were. I came up with the idea to design this pin after that experience. I hope that when I wear it in public spaces where staff has to constantly deal with the public and fear for their safety at their place of work it might give them just the smallest fraction of peace of mind, and maybe a chuckle. Who knows, maybe It will remind someone who still hasn't fully realized their role as part of this human mess that it takes so little to make the world safer for us all.

Better Regulate Than Never is a podcast created and hosted by Life Coach Cynthia Coufal for young adults to learn skills for emotional regulation. I 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 could have used something like this as a teen/post-teen overflowing with angst 😖 Not only is Cynthia’s voice pure perfection for a podcast, but the information she shares and how she shares it is so accessible.⁣
⁣
Cynthia will be launching her coaching business in full force in the coming months, and she wanted to be prepared with both a logo for herself and matching branding for the podcast she’s been publishing since August of 2020. She was a total gem to work with, and although I feel very out of touch with what’s cool with the kids these days, I loved the opportunity to do some research and try to get my mind back to that place.⁣

This impossibly stylish woman is one of the most joyful and creative people I’ve ever known. I met Elizabeth at the (RIP 😢) Pride Prom several years ago. She was doing the MOST incredible face paint that matched people’s outfits or wildest dreams. It was so incredible, in fact, that we hired her to paint faces at our wedding 💖⁣ (swipe for face paint pics 🌈)

She has the most incredible talent to bring beauty out of everything she touches. And it’s all done in such a conscientious way, giving vintage treasures new life or bringing joy to a space with her original art and murals. ⁣

Her weekly vintage home decor & furniture sales have been absolutely exploding in popularity. So much so that she was featured in a segment on . She finds things that I am certain I wouldn’t even notice and showcases them in ways that make me realize how freaking cool something can be!
