Silver Alert Issued for Missing Lawrence Woman



Lawrence, KS – Based on new information that a missing Lawrence woman may have been seen heading out of the Lawrence area, the Lawrence Police Department is now expanding the search and issuing a Silver Alert for Wanda Dyer.

Lawrence Police have conducted an extensive search throughout the weekend, which continued Monday and today. City bus operators have been given her picture to distribute. Officers have searched the parks and made multiple visits to places she is known to frequent.

Family last saw 74-year-old Dyer Friday leaving her home, on foot, near 5th Street and California Street. She suffers from confusion and memory issues, according to family.

We believe she was wearing a black jacket with a black fur collar and possibly carrying a backpack and a floral-patterned bag. She is small, at just 5’ 2” tall. When she is out, she generally wears a blue surgical mask.
