I'm glad you asked...

(Well, this was what it was like for me!)

As a concert photographer, shooting a show at Madison Square Garden – the World’s Most Famous Arena – is (well, now was) at the tippy top of my bucket list to shoot a show. And th…

New Blog Post: Hopper Happens.

I didn't submit photos to what sounds like a cool exhibition at the Edward Hopper House Museum,

Here's why.

(I still hope to get up to Nyack to see the exhibition in June though)!

New post: I recently did some new headshots for author/poet/educator/historian/editor Barbara Krasner. Here's the low down:

A few weeks ago, I received and email from Barbara Krasner, whom I met at a an afternoon creative writing workshop at my local library last December. Barbara is a faculty member at Mercer County Co…

"Being aware is still what photography is all about." ~ David Burnett

Over the past three days, me and my Chevy Blazer rolled over more than 1,000 miles, in and around New Jersey, New York, Vermont, and Pennsylvania.

Up and over mountain ranges called the Adirondacks and the Pocono mountains.

Chugged through, or past, towns with names like Cairo, Pottersville, Bolton's Landing, and Quakertown, Jim Thorpe and Forty Fort.

Slowed to a crawl along North Jersey towns like Mahwah, Metuchen and Ramsey.

Gives a guy a lot of time to think.

Quick conclusions: Things are O.k.

(Well, aside from the stops at that the gas pump. Thanks to Felon 47 for that.)

New blog post: Latest Visual Week In Review is up.

"You have to work at seeing. It must be an aggressive act of visual curiosity." ~ Reinhold Marxhausen

This week over on the Visual Week In Review, I'm thinking about all the good stuff happening around us despite all the bad stuff happening in the world.

You have to focus on the good so the bad doesn't get you too far down.

Click the link in my bio to read more. While there, check out some great links to cool stuff, like Platon's video with jazz great Wynton Marsalis; a fantastic piece on New Jersey bikers of the '70s shot by "Pulsating" Paula Grimaldi Reardon via FlashBak; how common, everyday things inspire some creatives, via It's Nice That, the documentary work of Robin Weaver; a cool BTS video from a Huckberry photoshoot; the wonderful story of 95 year-old photographer Leonard Nones via The Wall Street Journal and remembering photographer Stefanie Chernakowski, who passed away in April, and her legendary punk rock photos.

And also, what I read and watched this week, while Foy Vance was in the listening rotation.

All hand curated, ad free! Enjoy!

This is 56.

I turn 56 today. A little sobering, frankly, to think I’m closer to 60 than to 50 now. Doing the best I can, still chasing the light and shadows. I shot this dappled self-portrait – aft…
