(01/10/2022) ATLANTA, GEORGIA - The Georgia Chamber of Commerce has appointed Farooq Mughal to its Board of Directors. In this leadership capacity, Mr. Mughal will play a vital role by providing guidance, leadership, and support of the Chamber’s policy and membership efforts.

Farooq Mughal also serves on the Georgia Chamber’s Government Affairs Council. The Council (GAC) is made up of over 400 government affairs professionals representing companies throughout our state, with the overarching goal of striving to achieve the policy objectives of the Georgia Chamber. Mr. Mughal is currently serving on the Federal Affairs and Transportation Committees.

More than 60 lawmakers from both parties are asking Congressional leaders to quickly pass an additional round of Covid-19 relief for small businesses.

The lawmakers, which include Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, R-Ohio, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y, and Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J, along with the lead sponsors of the bipartisan small business grant bills GYMs Act, RRF Replenishment Act, and the Save Hotel Jobs Act, are asking Congress to fully fund all requests made to the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, as well as set up grant programs for the fitness, live events and travel industries.

Governor Brian Kemp announced today that Igneo Technologies, an e-waste recycling company, will invest $85 million in opening its first electronics recycling facility in the U.S. at the Port of Savannah.
