The only thing good about Hickory today was the weather. There were 34 legend cars competing for 24 spots in the main event. Practice resulted in a time that was 30th quickest and hitting the wall in qualifying resulted in a 26th place time. Only 20 cars went to the main event from qualifying and the rest raced the B main for 4 additional transfer spots. A crash and increased damage from all of the day’s adversity resulted in a 12th place finish in the B main, out of 14 cars. Thanks so much to Pinto’s Cafe, Rite-Shine Mobile and John Brown’s. Next time can only be better!

Watching the Summer Shootout on TV last year is what got me interested in U.S. Legend Cars racing. I am thankful we were able to participate in a round this year with New River Building Supply on board. It was a great night of racing. Layton Harrison qualified 11th and finished 5th in the semi pro division! As always, a huge thanks to TBM for being such a great partner!
