Life's journey has taken me to some incredible highs and shown me devastating lows. I've been so fortunate to meet US Presidents, Gold Star Families and others who've been at the very bottom of their rope. Ten plus years of interviewing people who've seen the best of the best and felt the worst of the worst. It teaches us that no one day is promised. Along those lines, nothing worthwhile is given, it's earned through hard work and perseverance. A Roman philosopher nails it with this phrase, 'There is no luck. Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.'

While I believe in hard work, I'm also a firm believer in giving. Volunteering, giving back, paying it forward - whatever you like, it feels to good to give. I enjoy coaching youth soccer. There's nothing better than watching a herd of eight year olds flocking to a ball. When we're not on the pitch, we're at the YMCA. An incredible place for social responsibility, wellness and youth programs. Volunteering at the Y for 10+ years has opened my eyes to community needs I never knew existed. The loves of my life are my wife, our three amazing children and our faithful and ever-squirrel-vigilant pup. I live for them and they for me. I'd tell you I started this little media business because I love media but truthfully, it's all for them. I hope this gives you a small understanding of what keeps NJM ticking.
