Don't be suckered into spending over $100 on a macro light box... I built this with $10 worth of pvc parts from Lowes. Add an $11 shower curtain from Walmart and you have basically the exact same thing. If you don't have flashes or monolights, you can use two desk lamps (as long as the bulbs are identical).
I'll show a pic of the final assembly tomorrow.

Pretty big update for this week, and it comes with *massive* life change.
I had an "I'm just curious about your company" interview on Tuesday for a full time corporate photographer position for a company in downtown Dallas.
I was not looking for full-time employment but I thought I would check it out anyway. The interview lasted about 20 minutes, after which they asked what I'd like as a salary and offered me the position on the spot.
After much prayer, thought, counsel, and discussions with friends I have decided to accept the position and will be starting on August 11th. (!!!!)

Today I called all of my regular clients and broke the news that I would be ending my contracts with them, or that I would be unavailable to work for them going forward. It was kind of a sad experience, but made joyful because all of them had extremely positive things to say about me, which was very encouraging.
"Always welcome here", "you've become our hero lately", "most hands-off to work with", "required very little editing", and "consistent" were all things that I got to hear about how they felt about my years of work done for them.

So next week is my last week as a "freelance photographer" before becoming a "corporate photographer". I'm both excited and scared at the same time. I will miss the flexible schedule, as-needed vacation time, and the freedom involved in working for myself, but definitely will enjoy the regular (and increased) salary, benefits (first time in 6 years to have insurance), 401k, and the travel that will come with the new role. In addition, one of my first responsibilities for this new job will be to build them 2 photo studios from the ground up, which is very exciting for any photographer to think about.

2014 is definitely the "year of change"! But, so far, God has been blessing "immeasurably more than all (I can) ask or imagine" and all the changes have been positive beyond expectation.

Thank you to everyone who has believed in me and encouraged me throughout the years, as I built and grew my Radiant squares company, and as I have pursued (and continue to pursue) this dream that is photography. I could not have made it this far without you!

Photography has a language all of its own. We translate some of the common photography talk and camera jargon to explain just what those photographers are saying.
