I shot from abt 11am to midnight yesterday 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
Despite the heat and humidity I had a blast and met so many great people 🥹
This was my third Caribbean American Festival Lima, Oh and every year it gets better and better.
There is lot of history and and a vibrant culture of Trinidadians in Lima.
The history goes all the way back to the 60’s when local industry first imported skilled workers from a medium-sized tropical island in the Atlantic called Trinidad 🇹🇹
Today, the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of those workers still honor a yearly tradition. Celebrating and sharing not just Trinidadian culture, but the culture of all Caribbean islands.
It was an honor to be invited to document this years event and I am looking forward to next year 🏝️
Also, I want to add that I feel like I’m not only documenting a celebration of culture but also documenting the ‘American Dream’ playing out in real time, and it lowkey restores my faith in it.
