Currently, I am studying at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I will be graduating in December 2023 with my Bachelor of Arts! For as long as I can remember, I've always had the need and desire to create. As a child I was regularly expressing myself creatively. Whether it was school projects, D.I.Y.'s, or scrapbooking, I was always up to something. To this day I still see myself as that little gi

rl with a big imagination. In high school I was the unofficially designated t-shirt designer at my school. I was also the co-editor in chief of the yearbook where I held that role for two years. It was also in high school where I took art classes for the first time and fell in love. I ended up taking art for all four years. After enrolling in college as an Elementary Education major, I knew I was missing my creative self and my imagination. After a year and a half as an El Ed major, I decided to make the jump. I switched my major to Graphic Design! I now know my way around Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and Lightroom. I also work on Procreate, making doodles, illustrations, and small animations. I can't help myself but to experiment with mixed media in my designs. Watercolor, collage, and printmaking techniques often show up in my work. (Fun fact: I've taken three printmaking courses and will be taking my fourth my last semester.) Speaking of printmaking, it has my heart! In my free time, I'm usually sketching, designing, printmaking, junk journaling, or completing a D.I.Y. One of the coolest parts of my job as Marketing Coordinator at Heartland Hobby Wholesale is creating ads for Model Railroad Hobbyist Magazine, which has over 55,000 readers every month! This ad for vintage passenger cars was such a fun one 😊 I wanted to capture that nostalgic, historical feel these cars hold. I absolutely love the realism and storytelling of model railroading, and it’s awesome to bring that same storytelling through design. 🚂

Finally in a place where I can start creating again, and it feels so good! Creative burnout is no joke — wanting to make art but not having the headspace for it is one of the hardest feelings, but it’s something we all go through at times. 🤍
