Released from the hospital today around 12:30 pm. We have stopped for the night after six hours of driving / stops / fuel and walking.

Will resume in the am to see how far we can make it before stopping again. Kevin is extremely worn out — lots of traffic, weather delays, and construction. I’m looking forward to sleeping in an actual bed, versus a chair and trying to stockpile some sleep.

Hopefully we will be Back Home Again in Indiana tomorrow.

Today has been a long day.
His billirubin numbers are still elevated and he is experiencing some pain.

He has walked around the halls, twice. And he has kept food down. Was able to get cleaned up a bit and had a nice long nap this early evening.

There have been multiple rounds of antibiotics go through the IV for infection prevention.

Plan, as of right now, is to be discharged tomorrow afternoon to start the drive home.

Cannot thank all of you enough for the texts, calls, prayers, and love shown to Kevin and I this week.

More to post soon.

Tuesday Evening Update :

Kevin underwent another surgery this am with four different testing procedures :: EGD, ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound (Upper), and XR Fl ERCP Biliary Duct.

His Bile Duct was full of infection, sludge, and contained two large stones. This has been cleaned out and stones removed. The doctor came up
To talks through results. He is confident the bile duct and gallbladder were the one two issues. And they state this was taken care of just in time — before it would have turned septis.

Hopefully, Bloodwork will continue to test levels (as his billirubin was dangerously high).

Pancreas, Liver, Stomach, and Esophagus are all normal. He does have small nodule on his right lung, that has been there for over a decade and is benign.

Since here, he has undergone testing of:
EKG
Chest X-ray
CT Scan of abdomen and pelvis
ultrasound of Gallbladder
Magnesium Panel
Lipase Panel
MRI of Liver
MRI with contrast
MRCP with and without contrast
XR Intraoperstive Guidance
More blood tests that I can count
EGD
ERCP
Endoscopic Ultrasound (Upper)
XR Fl ERCP Biliary Ducy
3 - Urine Anaylsis

He is in VERY good hands. He IS up and walking, so one step closer to going home.

Grateful this surgery is behind him.
Went in at 3:30 pm for prep, 4:44 pm for the start, and was out at 6:45 pm.

Surgeon said this one was a mess; however, it was taken care of just in time before it ruptured. Luckily there were NO stones in the gallbladder. But inflammation and infection were heavily present. He is extremely droggy. I was able to get him to eat a container of Jello and then a few spoonfuls of pot pie.

His BP and pulse are holding steady. His oxygen levels are a bit low, but with help is in normal range. He has four pretty substantial incisions and is in a LOT of pain.

Will be a long night of everyone coming in/out to check vitals and administer medicines. BUT, I personally will take it in hopes that he feels soooo much better soon.

There are three surgical procedures scheduled for early morning to treat a couple of other items. Praying these are are within normal range.

UPDATE: 4:44 pm
He is in surgery now

UPDATE ::
3:10 pm - he has been moved from ER room
to a private room. He is prepped for surgery — and will be taken down at any minute.

Prayers to the surgeon, medical team …
Plus all who love Kevin.

Will update soon.

💙💙💙

Asking those that follow this page to uplift Kevin in many, many prayers today.

Long story short … we are in Florida.
Just finished Disney, boarded a cruise ship to celebrate Kevin’s birthday.

Within a half hour, he was doubled over. So we got off the ship ASAP to head home. Only made it 30 minutes because it happened again.

Ended up in Prompt Care in Ormond Beach then was transferred to ER. Multiple scans/tests/bloodwork - gallbladder is being removed today. He does has a few other items that will require and ERCP.

Thankful they let me stay in his room overnight. And assume that will happen again tonight and tomorrow.

He need your prayers and love.
I will update THIS post at the top as the day progresses.

Absolutely dreading this 16 hour drive home once he is the clear. Will have to stop a lot to walk him around to prevent any blood clots.

Appreciate all of the comments, texts, calls, and messages 💙

I cannot begin to describe what this young lady means to me. Today we are celebrating her 50th birthday at her favorite spot. Disney. But my favorite spot is our home. It’s where I can’t wait to return to when I am away and where I am anxiously awaiting her return if she is gone. I would be lost without her laughter, smile and partnership. We truly are one. Happy Birthday HBR!!!!

We have enjoyed a few overnight visits with these stuffies who were visiting during the Miner Shootout 🏕️
It’s now time that they make the trip back home to Newburg. There is a little who is anxiously awaiting their arrival. 📫 🐰
Big thanks to Coach Britton for letting them camp out in his room these last few nights.
