I found this pole hanging up in the basement between floor joists . Wondering now if it was the pole shown here ? I thought it was a tetherball pole !

2020 memory

With Maine Preservation permission , I would like to congratulate Bates College Chapel for winning the first People’s choice award ever presented by them , it was interesting to hear stories similar to ours , we were asked if we would try it again with another project . We are considering it in the future , The gentleman described it as child birth , you say never again and then several years later you want another 😊 One more thing talking to a man from Camden Maine they have started a demolition review committee , that may stop some historic homes being razed for large summer homes built by out of staters , interesting concept , well thanks for all your votes , she said the school had a early lead !

Today’s finds ! There were many holes made in the floor for heat grates when they heated with coal stoves .They were plugged up later on ,so many things we found taking down the ceilings were near these holes.

Floor sander coming earlier then expected , Aline’s trying to get as much paint on as possible ,I’m scurrying to finish up chair rails , but we will work around finished floors not stopping the momentum 😊

Good memory and surprise , but another Lisbon high graduate and his home was also featured in the same Downeast magazine dated Feb. 2021 edition ? None other than Stephen King !

We were surprised and honored with this email from one of the editor of DownEast Magazine . We are happy for the town of Lisbon to get this recognition for something we loved restoring

Apt 6 a daylight basement in rear started out as a manual training shop class in 1931 shortly after construction of the new addition lead by teacher Eddie Prosser who married another teacher Miss Beulah Morrison who he was giving a ride to here , later when the high school joined lisbon falls it became the lunch room directed my Iva Millett
