And, finally ...

Finally, we have "Come Winter," the season we currently are in:

The Barn Star: Field Notes from the Farm
Come Winter

This is a daily devotional. It is also a story. And it ends with: The Eternal Christian

"The work has been completed, the final instruction given, the Passion, initiated. After the harvest comes silence. And sweet, soft gratitude."

The Eternal Christian begins the moment Sadie asks, "How do I do eternity?"

Of yesterday, for today: This is book four of a four-book story in a daily devotional for raising the barn, mending the fence, rebirthing the harvest, and cultivating the fields, using a collation of observations of the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, farmland, as told by Sadie Gibble. Each day is represented as a field note, which Includes the farms, farm life, gardening, weather, customs and cookery under the magical star of Jesus Christ.

Join a farmer, church organist, and the growing of a grandson as they farm together through each of the four seasons of a human soul's spiritual journey in the fields of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As a spiritual farmer, the reader has already found something relatable in each character. And as each character walks through challenges that are common to us all, each becomes endearing in the search for an answer; or, sometimes, no answer at all as God's plan eventually does unfold, and does so with grace.

The series includes 365 touching days with Harry, Sadie, and Sonny as they nurture the joys, trials, and errors using prayer, scripture, and hymns under their own barn star of faith.

In this fourth book, Sadie learns how to walk separately, and yet together, with Harry; and find life in a new way by passing her gifts forward, while also contemplating giving her own life back. Sonny and Dolly continue to learn the importance of the farm, and farming and daughter Angel uses the organ music Sadie gifts to her as a stronghold.

And the writing for Sadie goes on: "Ink has a way of teaching, Sadie knows. Especially when it is accompanied by the scent of 'old.' "

The Barn Star: Field Notes from the Farm
Come Fall

This is a daily devotional. It is also a story. And it continues with: The Confident Christian

"The stained glass window depicts the phrase: In the world, you will have tribulation. And there is Jesus, gently cupping, with both hands, the sheep He firmly holds. The confident Christian sees both, and in knowing troubles and multi-colored shards of glass, he also knows peace, and joy, firmly believes God has overcome the world, and knows He firmly stands on truth and promise."

Of yesterday, for today: This is book three of a four-book story in a daily devotional for raising the barn, mending the fence, rebirthing the harvest, and cultivating the fields, using a collation of observations of the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, farmland, as told by Sadie Gibble. Each day is represented as a field note, which Includes the farms, farm life, gardening, weather, customs and cookery under the magical star of Jesus Christ.

In this third book, the family enters into the season of the harvest. Sonny and Dolly continue in their role as parents to two children, while Harry and Sadie come full circle back to the farmland, at yet an older age, where Sadie experiences great loss, and becomes fully aware that "Home will always be my morning meditations with God. "

Sharing Sadie's second book in her four-book series is a pleasure ...

After reading Come Spring, join Harry, Sadie and Sonny, and be introduced to Dolly in the second book of the series:
The Barn Star: Field Notes from the Farm
Come Summer

This is a daily devotional. It is also a story. And it continues with: The Growing Christian

"Love swaddles, her green leaves tightly wrapping the fragile beginnings of the fruit. The growing Christian is but a branch, and a branch that eventually bears the harvest of the fruit. "

Of yesterday, for today: This is book two of a four-book story in a daily devotional for raising the barn, mending the fence, rebirthing the harvest, and cultivating the fields, using a collation of observations of the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, farmland, as told by Sadie Gibble. Each day is represented as a field note, which Includes the farms, farm life, gardening, weather, customs and cookery under the magical star of Jesus Christ.

The series includes 365 touching days with Harry, Sadie, and Sonny as they nurture the joys, trials, and errors using prayer, scripture, and hymns under their own barn star of faith.

In this second book, Sonny is a young adult contemplating his future, love and marriage, none of which include carrying on with the farm. Harry and Sadie must once again come to an acceptance: The loss of a son as he matures; the possible loss of the farmland; and their own physical aging brought to life with the maturing of Sonny.

"Are we ever prepared?" Sadie asks.

"When life has you surrounded by a heavy air of fog where each step is barely seen, we return to the basics: The seed, some soil, and a drop of water."

(Come Spring)

This is a daily devotional. It is also a story. And it begins with: The Baby Christian

"The baby Christian is sprinkled with the baptism waters and the seedling believer begins forming roots. From a stem of Spring greenery comes the tight bud of infancy, and inside each blossom is His command: Love one another, as I have loved you (John 13:34). "

Of yesterday, for today: This is book one of a four-book story in a daily devotional for raising the barn, mending the fence, rebirthing the harvest, and cultivating the fields, using a collation of observations of the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, farmland, as told by Sadie Gibble. Each day is represented as a field note, which Includes the farms, farm life, gardening, weather, customs and cookery under the magical star of Jesus Christ.

In this first book, Harry and Sadie accept the responsibility to parent and raise their six-week-old grandson. As Spring is birthed, so is Sonny's human growth, along with the formation of his faith foundation. And "if the field is nurtured and tended to, the growth of Summer will be abundant and resilient, even in a season that is parched."

"'I think faith can easily slip,' Sadie writes.

'I think faith laughs,' she continues.

'And I know faith rallies.'"
