Don't forget about your landing page!

As much as we focus and test out each element of our ads, our landing pages should be given the same amount of attention!

Here are a few things to watch for to optimize conversions on your landing page:

Buttons
-Minimize the amount of buttons your website visitors have to click to complete the action you want them to take. The more effort they have to put in - the less likely they are to follow through.

Pixel
-Add a pixel to your website to make sure the website visitors who don't convert their first visit (AKA the majority) are targeted for ads after they leave your site.

Personalization
-Pictures, videos and reviews go a long way! Getting to see the satisfaction and success of people who have already purchased your product or worked with you does wonders in convincing others to give your business a shot!

Remarketing is a term that constantly gets thrown around in the world of small business, but what does it actually mean???

Remarketing is an important tactic all business owners should implement! When advertising your business to a cold audience, it's very rare that they will contact you or purchase anything the first time they are exposed to your business. In fact, it often takes 4-7 instances of viewing something for an individual to act on it! Remarketing by showing your business to people who interact with your website and/or ad but don't take an action the first time is a tried and true way of getting more leads/sales!

Something I wish I didn't have to remind myself of on a routine basis 🤦🏻‍♀️

Seeing something done to perfection can be aesthetically pleasing and fulfilling, but sometimes I wonder if we use ✨perfection✨ as an excuse to avoid progressing to the next thing... especially if that next thing is something we're fearful of or something we're not looking forward to.

Allowing yourself to accept imperfection and move on to the next task can be uncomfortable, but ultimately allows us to be more efficient and take better care of our emotional/mental health!

The answers to all of these questions should play a role in determining your ad spend!

1. If you are running ads for a business whose competition is also running ads - you'll likely have to spend more to get your campaign in front of your ideal audience!

2. Additionally, the amount you spend should vary based on what you're hoping to achieve through your ads. For example, if your goal is leads, you will likely need to spend more than for a campaign whose goal is exposure/page follows.

3. The size of your audience should also be a consideration when determining your ad budget. If your target audience is on the smaller side (a specific city vs nationwide), you won't have to spend as much to have your ads seen.

4. Finally, the different types of actions you are optimizing for with your ads should also play a part in your budget. If you are optimizing for video views, you will spend less than if you are pushing for website traffic!

In order to run successful ads, one of the most important factors is getting your audience right! Here are 3 mistakes to avoid when it comes to setting up your targeted audience:

1. Not knowing enough about your audience makes it difficult to target them properly. It's important to know as much information as possible to avoid wasting money showing your ads to the wrong people!

2. When your audience is too broad, you run the risk of your messaging not being specific enough to resonate with your audience. Decide on exactly who your audience is and tailor your messaging directly to them.

3. When your cold audience is too small, it can be difficult for Facebook to gather enough information to really show if your ads are reaching their full potential or not. Recommended ad spend depends on several factors, such as the type of business you own, your goals and the number of competitors in your area.

This is such an important mindset for anyone working to make changes in their life -- small business owners included!

There will always be ways to improve or get "more" from life. But never being happy with what we have or where we're at in our stage of growth makes it easy to live in a constant state of want and dissatisfaction. How often have you started a contact form or added an item to your cart only to blow it off because something distracted you? This happens all the time! By having a pixel set up to retarget people who interact with your website, you can remind them of your brand and encourage them to follow through!
