It’s alive!! 😮

After being in the full-time web design business for over a year without an online portfolio or digital place to call home - westrockcreative.com is officially live!

The fact we’ve been able to be in business and continue getting amazing new clients with no website or real marketing at all is mind blowing. Oh yeah, it’s the amazing clients part. After all, what is a web designer who doesn’t have their own website?!

Designing and developing this website has been the definition of a labor of love and I’m so incredibly proud of what it’s become. There is still a lot more content to come but I would love to invite everyone to head over and check it out and let me know what you think.

We’ve got some pretty awesome web projects in the works right now and this new website for is the newest one to launch out into the wild!

When Cody reached out to me for help with the logo branding and web design // development for his incredible new barber shop - I jumped at the chance to get to work on this project. I’ve trusted him for years to keep my beard looking right and now I wanted to do the same for him! From the initial vision meetings all the way to it’s launch, this project was a dream to work on.

We wanted to build the website to be an online reflection of how it looks and feels to walk into the new barber shop with it’s dark, moody walls and elegant pops of pale and white accents. Cody knows how to create an amazing experience in his barber shop and I wanted his website to do the same. Having the freedom to choose your work environment every day is one of the MANY perks of starting your own business! Some days it’s the home office, other days it’s the park…but on really good days it’s an incredible spot like . Getting out of my normal environment is usually exactly what I need to get the creative juices flowing. ☕️

For the last couple months I've gotten to work on one of the coolest logo branding and web design projects of my career! After years of getting to know and having my beard trimmed by my guy, Cody Mayes, he asked me to collaborate with him on a new brand and business that he's building from the ground up! 🙌

This Fall he is stepping out and launching an awesome new barbershop called Bluewater Barber + Supply down in the heart of SoMa District of Little Rock. They are opening up the doors soon so click the link in my bio to check out their brand new website (I'll have another post digging into the details of the website so be on the lookout for that too!) and book your next appointment! I've got a feeling they're going to be busy!

Hello old friends and new faces! If you’re new around here, my name is Dave and I am the owner and handsome designer behind WestRock Creative.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted anything on here but I’m determined to do a lot better job of using this platform to actually be social and to maybe even bring some value from time to time. I’m gonna do my best anyway!

A LOT has happened in the last year in my family’s life and with WestRock Creative. Too much to tell right here but the biggest news is that we finally took the full-time freelancer leap back in March and left my former (and awesome!) job to make WestRock my main focus. It’s sink or swim now right??

It has been crazy busy ever since we made the jump and I’ve loved every single, anxiety-filled minute of it. 😂 I’ve already had the honor to work with so many amazing clients and getting to be small part of helping to build their dreams is such a fulfilling thing. I’m working on some super fun projects right now so follow along to see what we’re up to.

We are actively taking on new projects so let us know if you or someone you know might have any web or graphic design projects you need help with. I’d love to help!

Looking back in the archives today and found this design that holds a special place in my heart. As awesome as an event as this was, the people in this photo are the real treasure to me. They loved me, encouraged me, and made me better.

I love how art can do that. Be it a design piece, a song, a photograph, whatever - art can pick you and drop you right back down in that exact moment to relive again. Sometimes for better or for worse. But regardless, you wouldn't be who are today if it wasn't for that moment.

That's why we do what we do. Art is more than just images on film or music notes on a page. Art transports us and shows us how we've grown.

FARMHOUSE VIBES // Here’s a logo we did this year for my Aunt and Uncle’s beautiful farm in Alabama. They had it printed on multiple things and even cut it out of sheet metal for a huge sign at the front of their property.

Even after all this time - seeing your work displayed never gets old.

Sorry for the radio silence lately folks. Kurt () and I both have understandably had our heads down doing as much "from home" work as possible during these crazy times. More content is coming this week but I did want to take a sec and post this photo. Initially, it might not look like much but it was actually from a super important shoot from a couple weeks ago.

WARNING: LONG BUT IMPORTANT POST AHEAD //

We had the opportunity to give back a little by volunteering our time to take on a special project called "They Will Not Go Hungry" here in Little Rock.

I'm not sure if you realize but over 63% of students and families in Arkansas depend on free or reduced lunch programs. In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, they’re struggling to have access to those meals. During this time the businesses of our state are rising up and helping in anyway they can and one of those businesses, Ink Custom Tees, approached us with an amazing idea! They have designed and are selling tshirts to raise awareness of this need with 50% of the proceeds going directly to all of the Feeding America food banks in Arkansas.

As of the time I'm writing this they have raised enough money to provide food for OVER 17,300 MEALS! And that's just in 2 weeks!!

I'll post the video this week as well but for now we are calling on everyone to go to the link in our bio (www.theywillnotgohungry.com) and if you are able, purchase one (or 10!) of these shirts to donate to the to our food banks that are on the front lines of this fight. There are over 3 million people in 75 counties in Arkansas and we want to join together with one voice to say "They Will Not Go Hungry"!

As you can see from this logo design, we love working with brands of all kinds! From real estate brokerages, to clothing brands, to even excavation companies…if you can dream it up, we can work with you to design a logo that will elevate your brand and give it the professional look that sets it apart for your clients.

This was a construction company that came to us last year all the way from Alabama. As you can see from the following photos, they were in need of branding that could then be applied to multiple forms of apparel as well. Shout out to the great team over at for the screen-printing and embroidery assist! Everything looked fantastic!

This was a project that, along with the incredible story team at The Summit Church, I had the unbelievable privilege of being a part of for "A Summit Christmas" last December.
