When it comes to maintaining your website, automation is best…right? Nope!

It’s easy to see why a lot of business owners make that assumption - but I’ll explain why it’s not the best choice. 👇

WordPress websites require updating pretty frequently (like all sites) in order to operate at their best.

Sometimes, when you update a plugin or a theme, it will cause your site to break. This is something that doesn’t happen a lot, but when it happens - it REALLY happens.

When you go in to fix your newly broken website, you need to find out the cause ASAP - and this can prove difficult if you have everything set up to update automatically. It may take hours of sorting through your site’s backend to find what was the cause.

Will performing your updates manually keep you from breaking your site? No. But when it happens, you will immediately know what was the cause, and how to best fix it.
