Roller Skating at Trout Pond Park. It is always so much fun. Some of our youth have never been on skates but they all put on a pair of skates and tried. We are so proud of them.

The Reach Out Mentoring Program recently had the opportunity to visit Cedar Springs Trout Hatchery, where participants experienced a blend of education, hands-on learning, and community connection. During the visit, we learned about trout—how they are raised, cared for, and the important role hatcheries play in maintaining healthy fish populations.
After the tour, the group gathered for a fish dinner that brought the experience full circle. Participants were taught how to properly clean a trout after harvesting it. Thanks to Jim and his crew at Cedar Springs for the tour and education and thank you to Dan McCloskey for teaching us all how to clean a golden trout. Thanks to all the volunteers who continue to support our program.

Reach Out Mentoring welcomed the season with a night full of fun, laughter, and winnings! We celebrated with an exciting egg hunt that brought out some friendly competition, where everyone enjoyed searching for hidden treasures, followed by some fast-paced Minute to Win It games. The celebration wouldn’t be complete without delicious tacos and a sweet bunny cake to top it all off. 🌷🐰

Reach Out Mentoring had a wonderful, relaxing evening learning yoga poses with Cate at Luna Ha Wellness Studio. We walked in carrying the weight of the day and left feeling refreshed, recharged, and so much better than when we arrived. 🧘‍♀️✨

Reach Out Mentoring pushes limits with a 12-circuit workout at Be One Healthy Fitness Center. Energy was high, music was pumping and determination filled the room as ROMP took on a 12-circuit fast-paced workout with Be One Healthy Fitness Center. Led by fitness powerhouse Nancy Hackenberg with her motivating coaching style and trainer Nick Walker emphasizing proper form and mental toughness, the session was more than just a workout-it was a lesson in perseverance, teamwork, and making positive choices. We learned that evening that hard work builds confidence, nutrition fuels success, challenges create growth and positive choices shape your future. Thanks for a great evening!

Our youth had such a fun (and delicious!) time celebrating Valentine’s Day with special guest Chef Ang! 👩‍🍳✨
We rolled up our sleeves and made heart-shaped biscuits for chicken & biscuits — because food always tastes better when it’s made with love! ❤️ And of course… the chocolate fountain was a HUGE hit! 🍓🍫
There’s something so special about gathering around the kitchen, learning new skills, laughing together, and creating memories. We are so thankful for Chef Ang sharing her time and talents with our group!

Reach Out Mentoring beginning the New Year with some exercise and fun. Thank you YMCA for the allowing us to use the pool and giving our youth their swim tests. We always enjoy our swim time!!!

Nothing says Christmas party like a sweet and savory charcuterie board, a fun gift exchange, great friends and a classic Christmas movie. ROMP wrapped up the year celebrating together at our Christmas party and gift exchange. We wish everyone a joyful holiday season and many blessings in the New Year. We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers, mentors, and parents who support our weekly events, as well as those who continue to give through annual donations and contributions. Because of your time, generosity, and dedication, ROMP is able to provide youth with positive experiences, meaningful support and lasting friendships.
