Branding Mistake #1: Trying to market to everyone.

I get why people do it — it feels safer.
But when your messaging is too broad, people don't feel apart of the conversation.

The strongest brands are clear about:
✨ Who they help
✨ What they offer
✨ Why they’re different

Clear brands create stronger connections.

I’ve been loving the LogoArchive trend so much, I had to join in! It’s been so fun seeing a few pieces of my work together: the variety, the growth, the evolution. I even included the very first logo I ever created back in school 👀 Can you guess which one it is?

This is my Great Uncle Ray.
He would have turned 103 today, but he passed away last weekend.

I met my great uncle seven years ago.
I discovered he was an artist and that we had similar careers, just 50 years apart.

While touring his home, surrounded by artwork, one piece caught my eye: a Ray Sandler original.

I wanted to share this beautiful piece today in honor of him.

I’m grateful I got to visit him one last time in April and hear stories about his family and his years living in New York.

Uncle Ray was a kind and caring soul who found beauty in the simple, everyday things.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by many ❤️

“Morgan involved me every step of the way…” 🤍

This is always the goal—not just a strong final design, but a process that feels collaborative, thoughtful, and intentional from start to finish.

The brand for Signature Pilates & Wellness reflects exactly what we set out to create:

✨ Grounded
✨ Strong
✨ Bright
✨ Distinct in a competitive market

But more than anything, it reflects how clients should feel the moment they walk through the door.

Every detail was intentional—from the clean, confident typography to the subtle treble clef woven into the design, honoring the owner’s years as a music teacher and the rhythm she brings into the studio every day.

Now, that logo sits above the space she built.

Not by accident.
But through thoughtful strategy, honest conversations, and a process that made room for refinement and clarity along the way.

Because good branding isn’t just about creating something beautiful.
It’s about creating something true.

And when done well, people can feel the difference before a single word is spoken.
Reach out if you're looking to build a feeling into a visual brand.

In this project, the first concept missed.
The second got closer.
And that’s where the real work began.

We refined.
We adjusted.
We asked better questions.

Then after seeing the logo in real life, more feedback came in…
because liking it wasn’t enough. It had to feel right.

That’s the process.

Good branding isn’t rushed.
It’s collaborative.
It evolves.

And you should walk away with something you’re confident in—
not something you settled for.

A big misconception about branding is that it starts with visuals.
In reality, it starts much earlier—before colors, logos, and typefaces.

It starts with understanding how a brand should feel—and making sure that feeling is intentional, not accidental.

What looks like “two directions” on the surface is often something deeper:
a process of uncovering what resonates, what feels aligned, and what will hold up over time.

And just as important—what not to do.

In a saturated market, standing out isn’t about doing more.
It’s about making deliberate choices that set you apart from what already exists.

That’s where strategy comes in.
And that’s what I guide clients through.

The brands that last are built on clarity and intention—
and knowing exactly the space you’re meant to take up.

Quarter one was filled with a lot of behind-the-scenes work.

Instead of boring you with my normal recap, let’s celebrate my business turning two! 🥳

Running a business has challenged me. It’s taught me some tough lessons and pushed me outside of my comfort zone constantly. It’s also one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done.

While the lessons I’m sharing are business-focused, I find they apply to life too.

What lessons has your career taught you? Let me know in the comments 💬

You’ve just wrapped up a brand design or rebrand and received your final files. Now what? It’s time to implement them!

Whether you’re launching a new business or refreshing an existing one, be sure to update your logos, colors, fonts, and other brand assets across everything listed in this checklist.

Before switching everything over, don’t forget to build a little hype around your new brand. Giving your audience a heads-up helps create excitement and makes the transition feel smoother and less confusing. A few simple ways to build anticipation include:

🚀 “Coming soon” post
🚀 Countdown post
🚀 Sneak peek (mood board, blurred logo, or mockup)
🚀 Website pop-up
🚀 Mailer sent to current clients
🚀 Email announcement to your list

Your new brand shouldn’t be a complete surprise. Even if your audience doesn’t know exactly what’s coming, they should know something exciting is on the way.

Save this checklist for when you’re ready to launch or refresh your brand ✨
