June 10, 2021 I got to see my first up close tornado just east of Sidney, Montana on North Dakota. This storm produced 2 for sure and a possible 3rd tornado. No damage was reported. I’m still chasing, so hopefully we’ll see more.

14 years ago today. A storm I will never forget!

This storm was not predicted and rolled in from East to West. The National Weather Service called it a 50 year storm. According to Chris Arndt, of SLOweather.com, we received almost 5,700 strikes of lightning during this storm. It averaged out to 480 strikes per hour or 8 strikes per minute. I did see ball lightning that night but unfortunately I was too busy ducking instead of photographing. It was the only lightning that I saw that was green.

Stay healthy everyone.
