California artists in Los Angeles County: this is a major opportunity.
The California Arts Council’s Individual Artist Fellowships are now open for the 2025–2027 cycle, with unrestricted awards of:

• Emerging Artists — $5,000
• Established Artists — $10,000
• Legacy Artists — $50,000

The program recognizes artists across all disciplines and traditions who demonstrate artistic excellence, sustained creative practice, and meaningful community impact.

What makes this fellowship especially important is that the funding is unrestricted — allowing artists to invest directly in their work, time, research, performance, recording, studio practice, cultural preservation, collaboration, or whatever their creative process requires most.
Applications are open now and due Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.
Eligibility includes:
• California resident for at least two years
• Primarily living and working in Los Angeles County
• Age 18+
• Artists from all disciplines encouraged to apply

There are also free online and in-person information sessions, technical assistance workshops, and office hours available throughout the application period.

The Individual Artist Fellowship for Los Angeles County is administered by Los Angeles Performance Practice in partnership with the California Arts Council.
