Amelia's Info-Boutique of Good Intention

Amelia's Info-Boutique of Good Intention Sharing products and services that are safe for our personal health as well as our environment. Happiness is a choice- This has been proven. Absolute. It's ok.

Misery, per my therapist, is also a choice. We all have been given the greatest gift of choosing- and I decided I wanted to be happy. The first thing I learned was that I needed to become healthy. I learned not to take too big of steps, not to make my goals too big, to be easy on myself and to start with: 'What I Can Do'. I created this site because I want to share what I learn in hopes it will

help anyone, if just one person, become more healthy and thus more happy. I realized most people don't have the time, energy, or know how to find information on 'unexplained illnesses' as well as 'explained illnesses' and things we all can do to minimize them if not rid them. We have ONE life- One shot to be happy, have energy and feel great, to skip, to laugh and roll around, climb a rock and feel the breeze on our face. Just one short life. Yes, steps backwards are normal, I've learned through experience and through mentors. Life punches us in the gut... we make some not so great decisions.... but IT'S OK. We get 'tomorrow' to work on a step forward again! The greatest achievements were followed by countless failures. It's ok to fall- It's ok to cry- It's ok to ask for help. It's all part of making the choice to being so genuinely happy that 'nothing else matters' and I want to shout out to the world because even though my outside life is still a mess after a professional career crash and everything that comes with it, I am happier, more confident, and feel better mentally than I ever have felt in my life. I will provide links to products that I genuinely recommend. If you use the link and purchase a product, I may earn a commission (i.e. 5-10%). That would be awesome as it won't cost you anything, the price will be the same for you, and it helps with the time I spend on the research I do. ๐Ÿ™
I will always try to recommend American Made products first as building back our national economy is important to me. While I'm discontent with our current government, I LOVE America and am proud to have served in the US Army like my father. I also love to learn and share knowledge, I enjoy coaching/teaching like my mother who was a public elementary school teacher for decades watching our system fall from its graces. It's difficult, I know personally- but weaning away from buying Chinese goods is necessary. China is the cause of most Fentanyl entering the United States at this time and is doing nothing to stop it, killing innocent Americans as it's an odorless and tasteless narcotic. Also China is the #1 pollutant of the world. These issues are upsetting and lower prices aren't always worth it in my opinion. I am personally amongst the many struggling financially in the US. I live what is considered below the poverty level. Doing without for the greater is a small sacrifice in dire times. I'm sharing this so anyone also struggling knows I am practicing what I preach. If we spend a little more now, build back our manufacturing and production, the prices will come down and we will live better knowing we are not engaging in unethical labor practices. Live well, be good, and we find genuine happiness ๐Ÿ•‰๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿถ

I stopped using plastic/disposable roughly 5 years ago and have never regretted my choice. #1, I no longer feel bad about contributing to rapidly growing landfill issues and #2 I've already save hundreds of dollar!. Yes, there was a little bit of a learning curve- nothing like learning to shave for the first time ha ha.. and there are personal preferences each individual needs to learn for themselves... like weight of razor, length/width of handle, and 'how' the blade is replaced (some easier than others). Least important is how nice my razor looks in the shower as opposed to a tacky disposable- just feels more classy. Props to those who have given up shaving all together ๐ŸŒป

Every now and then I have a hankering for carbonated soda on ice. I KNOW it's bad... I wish I'd been raised in a household that didn't buy and have sugary drinks stocked and COMMEND my friends who have raised their kids in sugar-beverage free homes because I know it can't be easy. I do my best to avoid allowing maybe one or two a month but people don't know! It's not fair that the majority of consumers think because we have the FDA and USDA that there aren't harmful products available on the market. WORSE! Most coupons and sales are for the products with the most unhealthy ingredients. I'm posting this because having worked with older military Veterans with kidney disease I can attest Liver Disease and Renal Failure is a very very difficult and losing disease. https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/sugar-sweetened-drinks-increase-risk-of-liver-cancer?utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=mbg-daily%20revamp%202025-3-6&utm_id=mbg-daily%20revamp%202025-3-6%20%2801JNKMW0GAQXFDMWS5JVTG6B5N%29&mbg_mcid=01JNKMW0GAQXFDMWS5JVTG6B5N&mbg_hash=%7B%7Bmd5%20email%7D%7D&bxid=%7B%7BuserId%7D%7D&_kx=39Gex7tTBU_QqFeqKK5g_LiLYhj8ZqOYCEqUVW1E33A.TKHRHv

I've started making dog food! Half my pups food is now homemade and half kibble (for the vitamins- I'll figure that part out later). Anyway, I make large batches and portion servings out into bags to freeze. And that's where my good intention were turning sour with guilt over using one-time use plastic sandwich bags. My kichen is NOT user friendly yet and I need to keep washing dishes to a minimum (back injury as well as not having a dishwasher). My compromise is using compostable sandwich bags! I know, the cost! But using water, firing up my hot water tank, using diswashing soap... as well as the time... all easily worth the cost to me. And I feel good about it ๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒป

Win!! For months I washed and saved all of the one-time plastics I used. When I saved nearly a garbage bag full, I offered them up on Facebook Marketplace FREE for art projects, storage, plant starters, etc.! A gal graciously took them and sent me a pic of the bag in her car- with a couple of plant-based sponges I'd attached as a token of thanks. ๐Ÿฅฐโ™ป๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ AND the trash bag is plant based, eco friendly made by Hippo-Sak ๐ŸŒฑ

This is a GREAT article for those who have poor opinions concerning electric vehicles due to the 'Lithium Battery' issue (mining and discarding). I hope to be able to afford a 'hybrid' someday, one that uses fuel AND self-generates energy while driving, energy that is then saved to a battery. Hopefully someday I can afford one that can tow trailers and small machinery. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Tech Brew recently toured a lithium-ion processing facility in central Ohio that was the first company to get Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding to support a $400 million expansion.

Feeling Helpless regarding your diet, nutrition, and current um, waist size? Need an Easy Kick Start to get back on track to a healthy routine? Two years ago I felt this way but didn't have any ideas. I wanted to be healthy but lifestyle, stress, permanent physical injuries, costs and time to prepare healthy food everyday... No hope until I met the nicest girl out on a walk in my neighborhood. We started walking together and getting to know each other. She was a sales rep for Arbonne- most people have heard of Arbonne, I had of course, but didn't know about their 360 degree 30 day kick start program. That year I decided January 1st I would commit to the 30day regime of treating my body with the nutritional support it deserved. In the end, It was all the structure and nutrition I needed to regain my discipline in getting back on track to being healthy. I actually ended up doing a second month to continue the amazing improvements in my overall health. Chandra, my new friend and rep did ALL the work and ordering for me. Then she mentored and supported me through the month with motivation, information and tips to maximize efficiency. I had done tons of research in the past, protein and nutritional supplements, powders, pills, chews, gummies... but learning about different companies that change constantly, ordering from different sources became more stress than reward. While yeah, there would be one product in the package I could find a little cheaper somewhere else, or a meal replacement powder with 5 more grams of Vit D, I would not had gotten back on track without having all the work & research done for me. Yummy food season is upon us and if you're like me exceptions are made for mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, PIES!!! because it's "one time a year". So if you are feeling you need help with a kickstart program to shed some of the January/February 'fluff' that accompanies that indulgence I highly recommend the Arbonne 360, 30day kick start program. While there are local reps in the community, my rep was Chandra Padover and she is genuine, honest, kind, and super motivating- I just love her. I'm not getting anything for recommending her, I just feel that highly about her. Happy Food Season Everyone!! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿฅง๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿท๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅ‚

WARNING!!! POTENTIAL TMI!!!

I've tried, multiple times over the past 10 years to go sans antiperspirant under my arms. But I'm a moderate sweaty person ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ซ and it just feels icky to me. Pads/shirt inserts? Nah... I can barely manage minimal personal maintenance so sticking pantyliners in my pits isn't going to happen. I thought I'd been avoiding potential cancerous ingredients by using 'Toms of Maine' Organic underarm antiperspirant the past years but recently learned nope! They use 'recycled aluminum' in their product. So I've been reading and found this new product... All natural ingredients and no aluminum to absorb in my body. Native Deodorant contains only naturally derived ingredients, is animal cruelty free, and is made without aluminum, parabens, phthalates, and talc. I'm super excited to try it and will post a review. While it's not an antiperspirant, I read that the ingredient derived from Arrow Root helps with absorption as well as tapioca powder and baking soda. ๐Ÿ’™

This affordable, aluminum-free deodorant is a cleaner alternative to traditional anti-perspirants. Read our review to see how Native Deodorant held up during some hot, sweaty days.

Please give Cashew Milk an honest try this year if you are a consumer of milk from cows ๐Ÿฅ›. We've become way too populated to keep up the already gross and cruel industry of corporate produced dairy milk. We've known Dairy milk was causing negative impacts to the environment for years..๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐ŸŒŽ. it's a non-sustainable source expecially as populations grow. The water needed for the raising of dairy cows as well as the water needed to grow their food has become an increasingly fragile resource as well as the amount of methane gas released into the environment by dairy cattle world wide. Cashews need less water and less space to grow and have just as many benefits as dairy milk. I personally genuinely like cashew milk over cow milk now and even buy 'powdered' cashew milk to make my morning tea lattes. *While milk made from soy beans needs even less water than cashews, I do not considere it as a possible upgrade due to conflicting science on the estrogen that is in soy milk. Just 'giving it a try' is a great way to be productive in making a positive impact on the environment before we die in my opinion. ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•‰

1. Plastic takes hundreds of years to breakdown. It's also derived of petroleum thus the manufacturing process creates toxic waste. Another way to reduce plastic is to buy toothbrush heads or whole toothbrushes made of bamboo! I have an older Sonic toothbrush and these bamboo heads fit well. The only complaint I've read is that the wood feels dry and doesn't glide along the lips when brushing. I have zero complaints and have been using these for over a year now. Not 'as' smooth as plastic ok yeah, but not toxic and part of billions of pounds of earth waste either. โ€‹๐Ÿ˜€
