Established in 1984
In that year, Ross Turner founded his first design service (Mechanical Man Graphics) in New York City. Among his early projects were designing garment tags for Jordache and new marketing materials and logo for the world-famous Rockaways' Playland Amusement Park in Queens, New York. Freelance clients included Vogue-Butterick, Bloomingdales's Department Store, and many Wall Street investment firms of the day. Freelance work sometimes turned to offers of full-time jobs as Art Director or Creative Director. Since returning to his native California in 1988, Ross has designed four-color magazines; supervised production for a wine label printer; served as creative director for a fine jewelry designer; and designed and/or provided pre-press services for product packaging and custom store displays.
