It started with, "Why do we have the day off from school, dad?"

Me: "Well, it's Columbus day or umm Indigenous people day, or I guess it's Columbus day again...?"

Her: "Are you going to close your office that day?"

Me: "We will be closed, but I still have to go to work and take care of a few things. People rely on our business to get things done for them."

Her: "But you said you would be closed."

Me: "I'll only go for a little while to answer emails and work on some designs, like a sign to let people know we won't be coming in."

She goes to her room and comes back 20 minutes later.

Her: "Here dad."
