Michael Nosbisch of Long Beach was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2026 term at University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

University of Maryland Global Campus was founded more than 75 years ago specifically to serve the higher education needs of working adults and military servicemembers. ⚠️ Sandbag Fill Station Available for Long Beach Residents ⚠️

As we monitor incoming weather conditions, a sandbag fill station has been set up to help residents prepare and protect their property from potential flooding.

Location: Girls Softball Fields
788 Klondyke Road Long Beach, MS

The site has sand and bags available. Residents wishing to use the service must provide their own shovels and fill their own bags.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of this resource and prepare early.

We are proud to announce Colonel Andrew M. Ratcliffe, III as the 2026 Grand Marshal for the Long Beach 4th of July Jubilee Parade!

Colonel Ratcliffe is a Distinguished Military Graduate of the Army ROTC program at the University of Southern Mississippi and has served the Mississippi Army National Guard for nearly three decades. He currently serves as Facility Commander of the Mississippi Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (MS-AVCRAD) and Commander of the 1108th Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG), where he oversees aviation maintenance, readiness, and sustainment operations supporting military missions across the region.

Throughout his distinguished military career, Colonel Ratcliffe has held numerous leadership positions, including multiple command assignments within the Mississippi Army National Guard. He has deployed in support of operations in Iraq, Kuwait, and Kosovo and is a Master Army Aviator with extensive experience as a UH-60 Black Hawk Maintenance Test Pilot. His military honors include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Master Army Aviator Badge.
