Many family businesses, especially agricultural family businesses, are highly dependent on the health of rural communities for their long-term success.

Our client, Farm Credit East, ACA, understands this deeply. They have established the Lipinski Rural Initiatives Award in honor of former CEO, Bill Lipinski, who was a strong advocate for Northeast rural communities.

This year's grant recipients were Cayuga Milk Ingredients/Cayuga Marketing to provide educational and networking opportunities for employees, and The Foundation for Rural Service to support rural broadband access.

We are so grateful for the power of connection!

Our remote team was able to get together in August for a short retreat. We had two amazing venues and hosts in beautiful Western Massachusetts.

The first was Lisa Ekus, who shared her amazing farmhouse with us. It's also home to The Ekus Group, the culinary agent for our next host, Chef Sanford D'Amato, and his wife Angie at Good Stock Farm (Instagram: ). We enjoyed a cooking class and sumptuous seasonal dinner on their 2-acre property on the banks of the Connecticut River overlooking Mt. Warner.

If you are a food lover, you definitely want to know Lisa and Sandi (but be careful... they both will make you want to move to this special corner of the world!)
