During National Engineers Week, we’d like to recognize the transportation professionals who keep our communities rolling safely.

With 30 years of experience in transportation communications, we’ve seen firsthand the impact engineers make every day — from building safer intersections and improving traffic flow to upgrading drainage systems and optimizing signal timing — all while keeping safety the priority from concept through construction and beyond.

Global-5 sends its warmest congratulations to Florida Department of Transportation District Five for the well-deserved recognition of its WalkWise program during the 2026 Mayor’s Gala. Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry (l) presented the honor to FDOT District 5 Safety Administrator Loreen Bobo (c) and FDOT District 5 Transportation Development Director Jim Stroz (r).

WalkWise seeks to protect homeless individuals and those recently released from incarceration. And, there’s new adoption toolkit now available – free – to agencies and organizations vested in pedestrian safety!

🎓🚧 Central Florida Construction Career Days wrapped up today after two impactful days of hands-on learning and career exploration.

Students from more than 60 high schools engaged with professionals in the construction, engineering, and transportation industries, gaining real-world insight into how these fields work together every day.

The Global-5 team was proud to support our client, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) with a Public Information Officer (PIO) learning lab, highlighting the importance of public outreach and community engagement in transportation projects across Central Florida.

Global-5 is expanding our expertise beyond transportation-related communications... our work on behalf of the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County was recognized with a national Bronze Stevie Award for Marketing Campaign of the Year - Non-Profit!

The 'Smart Start with VPK" campaign increased enrollment in Osceola’s voluntary pre-kindergarten programs and focused on their potential for positive impact on childhood development. The campaign encompassed public outreach, multi-platform advertising featuring tons of colorful designs, and radio ads.

Global-5 supports our friends at Department of Transportation in its quest for the People’s Choice Award in the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) 2024 America’s Transportation Awards competition. FDOT is already a Top 12 Finalist and needs your vote to be the People’s Choice.

FDOT is recognized for its Orange Blossom Trail Pedestrian Safety Improvement project, right here in Orlando. The project’s goal is to move Florida toward its Target Zero by reducing pedestrian fatalities and serious injuries along a busy portion of U.S. highway.
