When a referral client shows up, you do not feel excited first. You feel watched... a prelude.
A client came to me through a referral.
When I saw that I was referred by a previous client, I sat up straight like my mom just walked into the room.
Those are the ones that make you feel the pressure fast. Because your name got mentioned before you even said hi.
They had a goal. Tight timeline. A lot riding on a tiny action from a lot of people.
We did not jump on a call.
We kept it to texts and emails because i value their time. Business owners do not need another meeting. They need progress.
So i asked the annoying questions in writing.
What do you actually need from your audience.
What do they believe right now.
What do they need to feel to click.
What will stop them.
Then i looked at the market. Same kind of posts everywhere. A lot of noise. A lot of asking. Not a lot of reason.
The client wanted a simple ask.
I gave them structure.
We built a 3 part drip that did a few things on purpose
• grounded the ask in community impact, not vanity
• made voting feel easy, repeatable, and fast
• gave people a reason to care even if they never bought before
• used urgency without sounding desperate
• told them exactly what to do next, every time
Here’s the unorthodox part.
I did not write what felt good to the business owner.
I wrote what the reader needed to see to act.
Then we moved fast.
