in checkerboard lighting using just 1 light.
I've been challenging myself to minimize my lighting, and I was able to pull this off with one direct constant light and some experimentation with background layering.
I overlayed the black side of a on top of a layer of white seamless paper, and then I overexposed the white and underexposed the black portion of the background in post production, so it has a really pronounced and crisp line effect mimiced by the opposing shadows on the subject.
