Just installed these PAX wardrobes & got to say how thrilled I am with how they look, only an issue with one of the doors which IKEA are re-delivering on Wednesday.

Little bit of touch up still to do, where I’ve bespoked the boxing in…for those who want to colour match IKEA Grey Beige, Valspar Worn Canvas is a good match! I was quoted £4K plus for these, did them myself for under £1K, for the shelves I chopped up a 50cm pax frame as only had 38cm to play with so couldn’t have a 5th door and for the boxing in used skirting and a spare pax frame side panel, very happy with how they turned out!

We had no plan. Just a rotten railing, a husband with too much time, and me, the hoarder of all things weird and rusty. First leg was found behind the old freezer. Second one under a pile of broken chairs. By the time we had four Singer bases, he goes: “You thinking what I’m thinking?” I said: “No, but let’s do it.” So now our porch has railings made from antique sewing machine legs. Some still have the foot pedals. One has half a brand name left, just says “GER.” It’s insane. It’s heavy as hell. It looks like we robbed five grandmas and welded their ghosts into our house. The hard part? Finding the rest. I was stuck at six. So I posted in my Tedooo app store, I usually sell benches there, but the community’s solid, and two days later I had three messages from other junk collectors offering to sell or swap. Not saying it’s normal. But it’s ours. And I swear every time someone sees it, they smile, like it’s just the right amount of wrong.

Finished my sons box room last week we was real tight on space so made the desk and bed with a mix of pax and malam turned out really well

I want also to share my Ikea project.
I needed storage space in the hallway for us and a coat hanger big enough for when having guests.
My model was the first picture, but to have this done exactly would have cost me 3000 euro.
So I've combined Platsa and Besta to have the colour combination. I've used the planners on the site to check how it would fit, but for each model its own planner. It would have been nice to be able to combine different Ikea models in the same planner.
I gave up the idea of fitting it up to the ceiling because the walls and ceiling are not perfect, different heights in the same space... But we can always decide to close it if we see it fit.
Of course I needed doors underneath because of a furry family member who likes chewing shoes.

I’m pretty upset. We paid at ikea for ikea to instal the kitchen we bought from them(like 900$), the installer came empty handed and asking us what did they have to do…they didn’t use silicone and here we are less than 1 week later 😩what now?

How do I add more visual interest? Shelves above the toilet or art on the wall beside the toilet? I love the idea of adding more green to the room.
