I (32F) and my husband (35M) live in the same city as his best friend, Steve, who has severe nut, legume, and soy allergies. My husband wants a strict no nuts in the house rule. I think it's ridiculous and my heart races every time I think of removing nuts and legumes. I'm allergic to wheat, and WE still keep it in the house! I offered to keep my nut products separate, but that wasn't enough for him. Steve doesn't carry an EpiPen and even works in food service, handling nuts daily! He's clearly not going to drop dead from being in the same room as them. I (27F) smoke in my backyard. My husband hates the smell, so I always go outside. Last week, we got a n__ty note: our neighbor claimed my smoke was giving their kids cancer! I was annoyed but ignored it. Then, 4 days ago, the neighbor confronted me at the door, face red with anger. She demanded I stop smoking in my own yard because her kids play outside! I explained our yards are big, and I smoke in the center, so the smoke disperses. I even mentioned I can't smoke in front due to a nearby park and anti-smoking laws. But she wouldn't listen. She was fuming. She stood with her arms crossed with such an angry expression. I even tried suggesting she close her windows! She kept yelling about her precious children. ⚖️ PUBLIC VERDICT REQUIRED:
My father's birthday is coming up and everybody was talking about it in our family group chat I decided to ask if I could bring daughter's name because my husband would not be able to watch her that day because of work. I was, of course, hit with how they weren't ready and I was selfish to bring it up especially since they were still grieving. I calmly told them that it was hard that I can't talk to my own family about something so life-changing and I was just expected to hide it which resulted in me saying they were the selfish ones.

She knows everything about my late wife and has been incredibly supportive as I navigate grief. Ada wants to know EVERYTHING about me, and she knows about the Saturday visitations. I'M PROTECTING MY SON FROM MY OWN FAMILY

I (20F) had my son in November. My fiancé and I vowed to protect him, unlike how my parents treated me. My mom has a son (31M) from her first marriage who has always rejected me. He refuses to let me meet his kids, even introducing me as a stranger when we were once in the same room. My parents dream of a happy family, wanting me to let my mom take my son to meet his cousins and uncle. I refused, saying I'm protecting my son. SHE ALMOST KILLED ME... AGAIN!

I (32F) have a deadly dairy allergy; ER visits & EpiPens are a MUST if exposed. My fiancé (34M) & I have a strict NO DAIRY rule in our home. My BIL's GF (29F) violated this rule *TWICE*. First time, ER trip! Apology given, but I was worried. Months later, I found hidden candy wrappers and a milkshake container in her guest room trash!

Even after she saw how serious my allergy is, and how I ended up in the ER, she STILL brought dairy into our house.
I blew up at her, the BIL threw out her products and she was kicked out.

Now, BIL wants her to visit AGAIN! We said she can stay, BUT we're checking her bags every time she enters the house. Now everyone is calling me an AH for the i__asion of privacy!

The next morning, over breakfast, I confessed, expecting her to maybe be very annoyed at worst. Instead, she flipped out. She ran to the bsthroom mirror and gasped and said? "What is WRONG with you? I (28F) have always been close with my family and another family who were best friends with ours. Their son, Jake, and I were childhood friends. I (25F) have a HUGE English Mastiff/Cane Corso mix, Baja. He's the biggest baby ever. My sister (30F), Eva, brought her friend, Sarah, to my condo unannounced. Sarah saw Baja (who has never growled at anyone!) and freaked. I offered to put him on the balcony, which is like his personal yard with a dog door. He was literally SLEEPING in the sun, but Sarah was fixated, eyes wide with t__ror. She demanded I crate him (he doesn't have one!) and launched into a rant. She accused me of being irresponsible, claiming Baja was violent, dangerous, and would attack strangers. I suggested they hang at Eva's instead. They left. The next day, Eva and my mom ganged up on me. They said I invalidated Sarah’s p__bia and should’ve locked Baja in my room.
