Dr. Calvin Bessonet, MD
Dr. Calvin Bessonet is dedicated to providing families in his community with high-quality clinical medical care, helping patients maintain a healthy lifestyle. He graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1994, received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1998, and earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2003.
Dr. Bessonet is committed to lifelong learning in the medical field and has been recognized by other healthcare professionals as a leader in continuing medical education. He completes over 100 hours of continuing education each year. He has participated in an intensive 400-hour medical training program led by the esteemed Dr. Hilt Tatum, a pioneer in the field of medicine and inventor of many advanced treatment techniques. Additionally, Dr. Bessonet has received advanced training in internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, and other specialized medical fields, allowing him to address a wide variety of medical concerns and work in partnership with patients to achieve optimal health.
Dr. Bessonet is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), and the International Medical Federation (IMF). He has also earned fellowship status by completing 500 hours of continuing education and passing a comprehensive exam. He is passionate about using new technology to improve the comfort and quality of medical care for his patients. With modern medical equipment, digital imaging technology, laser treatments, and sedation techniques, he provides more comfortable and less invasive care than ever before. Dr. Bessonet also owns the Louisiana Medical Institute, where he trains other doctors in advanced medical procedures.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bessonet enjoys spending time with his wife, Toni, and their two beautiful children. His hobbies include fishing, outdoor activities, and attending LSU sporting events.
