This ‘Afterschool Special’ Is One for the Ages
Restaurant offers a Happy Hour for school kids

Not long after veteran restaurateur Claudio Blotta opened All’Acqua, his upscale Italian eatery in L.A.’s trendy Atwater Village, he noticed something was changing about the hip, young couples among his clientele— they were having babies, and bringing them along to the restaurant.

For Blotta, who immigrated from Argentina, the idea of young families dining out together struck a familiar chord. He started out by supporting the nearby elementary schools with donations, catering, and sharing a percentage of the proceeds from school events held at the restaurant.

Then he took it a step further.

Where other places might have an ‘Early Bird Special’ with discounts for seniors, or a ‘Happy Hour’ featuring discounted drinks for adults stopping in after work, Claudio created something unique for neighborhood known as “the place where hipsters go to have children”.
