We had no plan. Just a rotten railing, a husband with too much time, and me, the hoarder of all things weird and rusty. First leg was found behind the old freezer. Second one under a pile of broken chairs. By the time we had four Singer bases, he goes: “You thinking what I’m thinking?” I said: “No, but let’s do it.” So now our porch has railings made from antique sewing machine legs. Some still have the foot pedals. One has half a brand name left, just says “GER.” It’s insane. It’s heavy as hell. It looks like we robbed five grandmas and welded their ghosts into our house. The hard part? Finding the rest. I was stuck at six. So I posted in my Tedooo app store, I usually sell benches there, but the community’s solid, and two days later I had three messages from other junk collectors offering to sell or swap. Not saying it’s normal. But it’s ours. And I swear every time someone sees it, they smile, like it’s just the right amount of wrong.
