The new site in Villawood, Greater Sydney, features a 4,000-square-metre warehouse with a storage capacity of more than 3,000 pallet spaces. This state-of-the-art facility meets the highest Tapa A security standards and serves as a multi-client hub for our customers.
“The new warehouse near Sydney perfectly demonstrates our truly global footprint,” said Frank Schirrmeister, CEO of Arvato Supply Chain Solutions. “With locations on five continents, we’re able to provide one-stop solutions for our international clients — supported by on-site local experts and a global IT infrastructure that delivers reliable data for customised supply chain solutions.” The opening of this new facility forms part of the company’s global growth strategy. Over the past six years, Arvato has increased its international warehouse space by 76%. Today, the e-commerce and supply chain service provider operates 14 sites across the Asia-Pacific region, including distribution centres in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan.
“In the past five years, we’ve experienced continuous growth in both our business and customer base across Asia Pacific. Now, we’re proud to announce the opening of our very first warehouse in Australia,” explained Raoul Kuetemeier, Head of Arvato Supply Chain Solutions Asia. “The new facility will provide B2B and B2C distribution services for three of our globally leading clients, marking the start of further expansion in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.”
At the Villawood site, Arvato provides a full range of logistics services, including warehousing, order picking and transport management, direct distribution to retailers and end consumers, IOR/EOR processing to ensure smooth customs clearance and trade compliance, device flashing, software installation, kitting, and other value-added services.
The new warehouse also provides optimal conditions for rapid product distribution. Located in the industrial suburb of Villawood in Sydney’s mid-west, it offers excellent transport connectivity — with Sydney’s central business district, Sydney Airport, and Port Botany all within a 30-kilometre radius. Five motorway access points within 10 kilometres connect directly to the national highway network in all major directions.
Sustainability is another highlight of the new distribution centre. The rooftop is equipped with a photovoltaic system generating renewable energy. All warehouse and office areas feature LED lighting with motion and daylight sensors, and double-glazed windows to enhance insulation and reduce heating and cooling energy consumption.
“Our corporate goal at Arvato is to achieve climate neutrality by 2030,” added Andreas Barth, President of Tech Industry Vertical and Head of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions. “With the environmentally friendly design of the new Villawood warehouse, we are making an important contribution toward reaching that goal
